Right on Dongxing South Road at Tengrui Bund Bay, in the same building as the Crowne Plaza Hotel, but much more affordable • Highly recommend choosing a high-floor river view room; the Guangji Bridge light show plays right outside the window, so you can watch the night view sitting comfortably without the crowds • The duplex layout is perfect for families, equipped with a washing machine and kitchen, feels like having a home in Chaozhou 🏯 Super Convenient for Exploring the Ancient City • Just a 10-minute walk to Paifang Street, super convenient for checking off local foods like beef balls, rice noodles, and fermented bean curd cakes • A 5-minute taxi ride to Kaiyuan Temple, and going early in the morning helps avoid crowds • The host thoughtfully provides a hand-drawn map marking local hidden gem snack shops ✨ Detail Lover’s Notes • The 24-hour online host is super reliable! When we wanted licorice fruit late at night, the guy recommended a place that even delivers • Automatic curtains + smart toilets, facilities newer than many five-star hotels • Only minor downside: there’s a bar downstairs, so light sleepers might want a room facing away from the street 📸 Photo Tips 1. Take silhouette shots by the floor-to-ceiling window at dusk, with the river reflecting the sunset—super dreamy 2. Shoot from above the spiral staircase in the duplex room to make your legs look extra long 3. A blessing for self-driving travelers • Check the light show schedule (currently at 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM every night) • Recommend ordering takeout from “Old Cat Beef Hotpot,” which tastes more local than the popular spots The biggest surprise this time was realizing you don’t need to stay in expensive hotels to have an excellent experience~ Spend the day exploring and eating in the ancient city, then come “home” at night to watch the river view. This is the right way to enjoy the slow life in Chaozhou!
