The most beautiful shopping mall in Changchun

🔖The Hill Shopping Mall in Changchun How to get there: 🔵Name: The Hill 这有山 🔵Address: 959 Hongqi Street, Chaoyang District, Changchun 🔵How to get there: Take the metro on the Green Line 3 to Huxiqiao Station, then walk about a kilometer, or take bus Z255 from the city center. By taxi, it costs around 15 ¥. 🔵Opening hours: 10:30 AM–10:30 PM This shopping mall appears in almost every travel guide on Dianping, likely due to its uniqueness. ⬇️Inside the building, there is a "mountain" (hence the name of the mall), and along its slopes, you'll find cafes, souvenir shops, and small stores. Most people come here to eat — the five floors offer everything from traditional northeastern Chinese cuisine to Korean BBQ and Japanese sushi. Of course, we couldn't miss such a place, especially since we love to eat. Moreover, the shopping mall is incredibly beautiful and unique. It's best to start at the top (it's more convenient that way) and then walk down the paths. We visited in the evening, and it was very crowded — it's a popular spot, as we mentioned earlier. 🕜 Like many things in China, The Hill has a beautiful story: a young monk lived in the mountains but learned that people in a nearby village were starving. He descended from the mountains to feed the villagers and has been revered ever since. At the entrance to the mall, there is a giant monk statue, and every day at 10:30 AM, a small show is held: like a puppet in a theater, the monk moves his arms and legs with the help of ropes. They say it's quite a spectacle. We didn't see the show, and to be honest, among the five floors of food, we couldn't find anything appealing — everything was too specific, and the places we wanted to try had long queues. So, we crossed the street and had dinner at a European restaurant in Wanda Mall. Nevertheless, The Hill is very beautiful and colorful, so we recommend you visit it too.

Nanhu Park

A relaxing day trip to Changchun: immerse yourself in the city's tranquility and artistic atmosphere! Nanhu Park is one of the city's best spots for a leisurely stroll and relaxation; Zheyoushan offers a glimpse into the artistic, handcrafted, and design atmosphere. This relaxing day trip is perfect for those seeking a leisurely lifestyle. Itinerary: Nanhu Park ➔ Zheyoushan Nanhu Park (Address: 2715 Gongnong Road, Chaoyang District, Changchun City, Jilin Province, open 24/7) Nanhu Park is conveniently located in the city center, perfect for morning exercise or a leisurely afternoon stroll. The park is vast, with a wide lake, abundant green spaces, and wooded areas, creating a picturesque setting. Strolling along the lakeside, you'll occasionally spot people fishing. Spring and summer are the best seasons, with picnickers and morning exercisers grazing on the grass. In autumn, the lakeside maple leaves are breathtaking, making it a perfect photo opportunity. Bicycle rentals are available within the park, making it a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The park is free of charge, making it a great place to visit in the morning or evening. If you have time, bring a simple snack to experience the relaxed lifestyle of Changchun residents. Zhe You Shan (Address: 959 Hongqi Street, Chaoyang District, Changchun City, Jilin Province, open daily from 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM year-round) We recommend visiting Zhe You Shan at noon or in the afternoon after a morning stroll in Nanhu Park. This is Changchun's cultural and creative hub, housing a cafe, bookstore, handmade craft stalls, and designer stores across several floors. It's a perfect spot for those seeking a stylish photo spot. Every corner is meticulously designed, and the interior lighting creates unique, striking images. The basement offers a gathering space, while the top floor boasts an open-air terrace perfect for reading, chatting with friends, or enjoying a cup of coffee. Zhe You Shan also hosts occasional markets and craft workshops, so you can confidently pick up souvenirs or specialty cookies. If you have time, sit down for a cup of coffee and savor Changchun's uniquely slow pace. Visit Tips: 1. It's recommended to visit on weekdays, as weekends are crowded and background noise can be a problem. 2. Nanhu Park is large, so wearing comfortable shoes is recommended. There are multiple restrooms within the park, so bringing water and a light snack is a plus. 3. There are many unique shops around Zheyoushan, and you can also explore the nearby Hongqi Street food scene. 4. Both locations are about a 15-minute drive apart, easily accessible by taxi or bus. 5. The air in Nanhu Park is freshest in the morning, while Zheyoushan is relatively less crowded in the afternoon, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll. In summary, both areas in Changchun are perfect for a slow pace of life and stress relief. I'll definitely visit again if I have the chance! The local pace of life is so comfortable for me. I love listening to the birdsong in Nanhu Park and enjoying the aroma of coffee in Zheyoushan. If you want to experience the leisurely beauty of Changchun, this itinerary will not disappoint you. Let's go! Take a stroll along Changchun's Hongqi Street and ride a century-old retro tram through the urban jungle.

Guilinlu Commercial Street

20250821 Changchun Stroll Early in the morning—not really early, actually—we went to the Yongxing Morning Market. I ate my first pomegranate, but the terrifying dog meat stalls kept me on edge the whole day. Then we took a bus to Guilin Road to find some coffee. The cafes along the way were still closed, so I wasn't there early enough. Luckily, I turned down a side alley and found Coffee Alley, which opened at 10:00. The coffee was delicious, and the decor was soothing. After coffee, it would have been a shame not to make a pilgrimage to "Zhe You Shan." As soon as we got off the bus, it was packed. The entire mountain was lined with restaurants. I didn't want to squeeze in, so I walked across to take a picture of the 54 tram, but didn't get on it and headed back to the hotel. Changchun truly is a city you don't need to return to!
