The Blue Lady, Impressionism style
Admission to this world class art and history museum is free to enter, but you would absolutely engage in this stunning museum as it has many great art galleries and art masterpieces to attract you. As you could see from these pictures, there are a lot of remarkable art collections from this museum. La Parisienne, Pierre Auguste Renoir by the famous French impressionist painter, allows us to preview the real life of the high class French lady in oil painting. This traditional portrait reflects the real natural color, lighting, costume of the society in that time. How remarkable is that? As you could also find many historical art pieces from the past in Ancient China. The dancing horse represents the history of the imperial court during the Tang Dynasty. If you would like to explore more art pieces, please feel free to visit this museum and its free entry.

National Museum Cardiff
Do you think everyone loves Venus? She is the symbol of the best lover and brings many love stories to us. During the Renaissance period, Palma il Vecchio brought her to life again with his secret lover, the God of War and his beloved son, Cupid. This well known and world famous painting, Mars, Venus and Cupid (about 1520), attracts many people from all around the world to see and feel it. National Museum Cardiff also has many precious paintings and this includes Water Lilies from Claude Monet and Rain Auvers from Vincent Van Gogh. In here, you could definitely immerse yourself into this Renaissance art world.

Fall in Cardiff
Autumn/Fall has arrived in the Welsh Capital and there is no better place to see it than Bute Park. Huge sprawling park with numerous trees of wildly different varieties.
At this time of year they start to change colour and you get the fire orange, browns, greens and even some reds. You can walk the dog or go jogging, or simply sit on a bench and enjoy the fresh air & nature. The leaves are falling on the ground too so you can kick through them and bring out your inner child.
But be quick Fall will be gone soon and the fabulous colours gone as well

Best attraction in Wales?
The most well known and popular attraction in Cardiff and possibly in Wales is Cardiff Castle. Visited by people from all over the world, you'll often here a lot of accents and languages while you're walking the grounds.
Some of this structure dates back to the Roman's and more to the Medieval times but a lot of it was rebuilt in the 1850-1880 for Lord Bute of Cardiff.
There are large grounds to walk, and you can take in the awesome structure around you. The fort surrounded by a moat is very impressive and although a ruin you can still climb to the top and see the views. This is where important prisoners would have been kept.
The main building is lavish and luxurious. With intricate and beautiful details. The Arab room and the library are especially eye catching. This is where the Lord would have lived.
The Castle walls have a lot of WW2 information too as the hallways were used during the war time bombings.

Excellent free activity
Cardiff museum is one of the best in the United Kingdom in my opinion. It's a great free, fun and interesting option to have, and good for all weathers.
The classical art section here is excellent with many masters on display such as Renoir, Monet, Van Gogh, Turner and more. The display is well laid out and comes with information about each painting or sculpture.
There is a prehistoric section with information about dinosaurs, mammoths, fossils and so on. And the museum has rotating special exhibitions which change every few months
The building is also gorgeous, a fine example of Victorian era architecture

Beautiful city park
A huge sprawling city park at the heart of Cardiff. Named after The Third Marquis of Bute, a man whose family developed most of the Cardiff we know today.
The main features of this park are the huge grassy areas which are perfect for picnics, sports, dog walking or just relaxing. Another joy feature is the wide range of different trees here from Evergreen to those that change with the season. Many of them blossom with fruits and berries.
It's a large park so if you want to see it all you should allow a couple of hours and it's quite easy to get lost so mind your direction
The park connects downtown Cardiff with Llandaff Cathedral and is a glorious walk

Wonderful Church
Dating back to 1120 this cathedral is truly an historical monument. But actually it's a practicing church with services you can freely attend. The choir and organ playing was incredible. The Sunday service was calm and welcoming.
The building itself is stunning. The stained glass windows are are a work of art especially the main central window.
Inside the cathedral there are monuments to past bishops and lots of beautiful decorative objects. Outside has a small cemetery and some benches to rest & reflect.
The building is incredibly tall and can be seen from far away. A truly must visit

Historical but cool market
Fantastic and historical indoor market in the heart of the city. Not so big but has everything you need over two floors.
The building itself is gorgeous, a real example of Victorian architecture. The brickwork facade is really photogenic and the interior is too with a cool metal roof.
The usual market traders are here such as fruit&veg, butchers, artisan bakers, book dealers, cobblers and the like. But there is also a vintage vinyl seller and a Welsh gift seller and some other intresting stuff.
The food stalls are surprising, with Indian street food, perogi dumplings, woodbaked pizza and more. The pizza especially was excellent.
If you're in Cardiff then I suggest swinging by and checking it out

800 year old church
St John's Parish is a Medieval church dating back to 1400s and is one of the oldest structures in the city centre other than Cardiff Castle.
It's a beautiful building from the outside with a tall steeple and aesthetic stone facade. There is a small garden attached which is nice to sit and think.
The interior steals the show though. Wonderful examples of stained glass windows on all sides of the buildings. With alters, organs, pews, stairways, and beams it's a visual feast.
It's just a short hop from Queen Street so if you're in downtown Cardiff then consider popping in

Cardiff Winter Wonderland: A Festive Escape in the Heart of the City
When winter arrives in Cardiff, the city transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland, offering a festive escape for visitors and locals alike. Set against the backdrop of the stunning Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Winter Wonderland is a must-visit destination that brings Christmas magic to life.
From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. The centerpiece of the Winter Wonderland is the ice rink, where skaters glide gracefully under twinkling lights, surrounded by the charm of the historic castle walls. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or a first-timer, there’s something magical about skating outdoors, with the crisp winter air and the glow of festive lights making it a truly memorable experience.
The fun doesn’t stop there. The Christmas market at Winter Wonderland offers an array of seasonal treats, from traditional bratwurst and hot chocolates to warming mulled wine. I couldn’t resist picking up a few festive gifts from the wooden chalets, which offered everything from handmade crafts to delicious local chocolates.
For those looking to add a little more thrill to their visit, the Winter Wonderland also features a funfair, complete with a Ferris wheel offering stunning views of the city, as well as roller coasters and carnival games. The laughter and joy from families and friends made it clear that this was the place to be during the holidays.
As the evening set in, the twinkling lights of the Winter Wonderland gave the entire area a magical glow, with Cardiff Castle illuminated in the background. It was the perfect setting to wrap up a festive day—whether sipping mulled wine under a blanket of lights or simply taking in the enchanting sights and sounds around me.
Cardiff Winter Wonderland is truly a winter dream come true. Whether you’re skating on the ice, shopping for unique gifts, or just enjoying the festive atmosphere, it’s a magical destination that brings out the best of Christmas cheer in the heart of the city.
