Great place to walk
Cardiff Bay is a very walkable spot with lots of nice sights to see. It's easily reached via Cardiff Bay train station or a reasonable short walk from Cardiff City centre.
It's near the water so you get lots of fresh air and exercise and it's a very relaxing place to walk.
Some notable sights include The Norwegian Church, a beautiful white church where Roald Dahl went. The Pierhead building, a gorgeous red brick building. The Wales Millennium Centre, and the Welsh Government building.
These are all near each other and worh checking out. Lots of restaurants and cafes around too. It's a nice spot to walk

Autumn 🍂
Autumn season a bit different from the other seasons, it has lots of environmental differences with winter or summer. The nature looks so clean and beautiful in this season. You can experience lots of moonlit night in this season. There are different types of fruits are available. People harvest crops in autumn and this is highly important for the farmers. There are a few reasons that are why I love this season a lot. The environment is so much relaxing at that time. I love to go for a tour and family picnic in this season.

Cardiff Castle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Best attraction in Wales?
The most well known and popular attraction in Cardiff and possibly in Wales is Cardiff Castle. Visited by people from all over the world, you'll often here a lot of accents and languages while you're walking the grounds.
Some of this structure dates back to the Roman's and more to the Medieval times but a lot of it was rebuilt in the 1850-1880 for Lord Bute of Cardiff.
There are large grounds to walk, and you can take in the awesome structure around you. The fort surrounded by a moat is very impressive and although a ruin you can still climb to the top and see the views. This is where important prisoners would have been kept.
The main building is lavish and luxurious. With intricate and beautiful details. The Arab room and the library are especially eye catching. This is where the Lord would have lived.
The Castle walls have a lot of WW2 information too as the hallways were used during the war time bombings.

Cardiff Castle
#familytrips2024
Exploring Cardiff Castle in Wales with my family was like stepping into a fairytale fortress steeped in history and legend. As we crossed the drawbridge and entered the castle grounds, we were greeted by the imposing keep and towering walls that have stood watch over the city for centuries. Inside, we marveled at the opulent interiors adorned with intricate carvings, rich tapestries, and ornate furnishings, each telling a story of medieval grandeur and noble lineage. Climbing to the top of the Norman Keep, we were rewarded with panoramic views of Cardiff's skyline and the lush greenery of Bute Park stretching out below. It was a journey through time, where every corner revealed a new chapter in the castle's storied past and sparked our imaginations with tales of knights and kings.
As we bid farewell to Cardiff Castle, our thoughts turned to our next family adventure: a voyage to the sun-kissed shores of the Amalfi Coast in Italy. There, amidst the rugged cliffs and turquoise waters, we hope to soak in the Mediterranean splendor and indulge in the delights of Italian cuisine and culture. From exploring charming coastal towns to savoring gelato overlooking the sea, the Amalfi Coast promises to be a feast for the senses and a haven for relaxation. It's a destination we envision as the perfect blend of adventure and serenity, where every moment spent together as a family is a cherished memory in the making.

A trip to my beautiful hometown 🏴
After living abroad for nearly four years I started to get homesick so travelled back to my hometown of Cardiff in Wales. After so many years away I had forgotten just how beautiful and special the city is, it has so much character and charm and a centrally located castle n makes it so magical. There are lots of historical sites, interesting architecture and great shopping.
My wish for 2024 is to make it back to my hometown, and helpfully be able to visit every year!

The Blue Lady, Impressionism style
Admission to this world class art and history museum is free to enter, but you would absolutely engage in this stunning museum as it has many great art galleries and art masterpieces to attract you. As you could see from these pictures, there are a lot of remarkable art collections from this museum. La Parisienne, Pierre Auguste Renoir by the famous French impressionist painter, allows us to preview the real life of the high class French lady in oil painting. This traditional portrait reflects the real natural color, lighting, costume of the society in that time. How remarkable is that? As you could also find many historical art pieces from the past in Ancient China. The dancing horse represents the history of the imperial court during the Tang Dynasty. If you would like to explore more art pieces, please feel free to visit this museum and its free entry.

National Museum Cardiff
Do you think everyone loves Venus? She is the symbol of the best lover and brings many love stories to us. During the Renaissance period, Palma il Vecchio brought her to life again with his secret lover, the God of War and his beloved son, Cupid. This well known and world famous painting, Mars, Venus and Cupid (about 1520), attracts many people from all around the world to see and feel it. National Museum Cardiff also has many precious paintings and this includes Water Lilies from Claude Monet and Rain Auvers from Vincent Van Gogh. Excellent free activity
Cardiff museum is one of the best in the United Kingdom in my opinion. It's a great free, fun and interesting option to have, and good for all weathers.
The classical art section here is excellent with many masters on display such as Renoir, Monet, Van Gogh, Turner and more. The display is well laid out and comes with information about each painting or sculpture.
There is a prehistoric section with information about dinosaurs, mammoths, fossils and so on. And the museum has rotating special exhibitions which change every few months
The building is also gorgeous, a fine example of Victorian era architecture

Beautiful Park
A huge sprawling city park at the heart of Cardiff. Named after The Third Marquis of Bute, a man whose family developed most of the Cardiff we know today.
The main features of this park are the huge grassy areas which are perfect for picnics, sports, dog walking or just relaxing. Another joy feature is the wide range of different trees here from Evergreen to those that change with the season. Many of them blossom with fruits and berries.
It's a large park so if you want to see it all you should allow a couple of hours and it's quite easy to get lost so mind your direction
The park connects downtown Cardiff with Llandaff Cathedral and is a glorious walk

Fall in Cardiff
Autumn/Fall has arrived in the Welsh Capital and there is no better place to see it than Bute Park. Huge sprawling park with numerous trees of wildly different varieties.
At this time of year they start to change colour and you get the fire orange, browns, greens and even some reds. You can walk the dog or go jogging, or simply sit on a bench and enjoy the fresh air & nature. The leaves are falling on the ground too so you can kick through them and bring out your inner child.
But be quick Fall will be gone soon and the fabulous colours gone as well

Castell Coch Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
A real life fairytale castle in the forest
Castell Coch is one of my favourite gems in Wales, just outside Cardiff this stunning castle looks like it is straight out of a fairytale film. The castle is nestled on a hill within forests and can be seen from far away, the Motorway running along the bottom of the hill gives you a great view as you drive by. There has been a building on the site since 1080 but the castle that stands there today was built between 1875-1891, it was the brain child of the famous William Burges who also led the building of Cardiff castle.
The castle is striking because although it is small in size it is brimming with architectural features, from the outside the curves of the walls and the turrets give it such a unique look. There is drawbridge and keep that leads you into the main courtyard, with stairs leading off to the various rooms of the building. You can explore the castle at your own leisure and take in the stunning decorations within the rooms, especially the intriqute detailing to the ceilings. There are many different designs throughout the building that take inspiration from animals and nature, there are so many details to spot it can take you some time to move from room to room.
In the higher rooms you can get a stunning view out over Cardiff and the wider area, seeing as far as the Bristol channel on a clear day. The woods around the castle are stunning and a great spot for walks, exploring the area and taking in the natural surroundings.

Medieval Castle
This is an architectural masterpiece located in the Welsh Mountains and truly a jewel of the UK.
Originally a Medieval castle this was rebuilt at great expense by Lord Bute and designed in a Gothic style. As with his other projects this has an incredible attention to detail.
The rooms are decorated with incredible luxury for the time and they still look stunning even today. There are several floors to explore including bed chamber, drawing room and library. You can even check out the cellar or dungeon.
You get a free audio tour with the ticket and it gives a lot of useful information. As you'd expect it is a great photo opportunity too.
