La Laja Cave is a strategically located cave with extraordinary cave paintings that are almost unique on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Laja Alta Cave is located next to the valley of the Gomero Gorge, overlooking the Algeciras Bay and the Rock of Gibraltar. This feature is remarkable because of the uniqueness of the schematic cave drawings made by ancient artists on the sandstone in the caves, a veritable catalogue of various vessels dating from about two centuries of the first millennium BC.
