A fascinating account of a long and eventful history

Andalucia Tour ~ Cadiz The museum is in a beautiful square with big banyan trees, a very nice atmosphere and contains a wonderful archaeological collection which is very, very interesting. It covers several periods starting from the Neolithic period and ending with the Mudejar period. But the most special is the exhibition of works from the Phoenician era. The sarcophagus is spectacular, but the dowry, sculptures and jewellery are also interesting. There were mosaics and sculptures in the Roman era. Everything was explained very well. One room explained what a cemetery looked like and the different types of burials. The museum is not big, but of high quality. Admission is free.
