Bayanzag (Burning Cliff) 🇲🇳 | Mongolian Gobi Desert Day 2 Scenery The experience of driving the Mongolian Gobi Desert on Purgong (UAZ) made me feel like I was in another world. The road from Tsagaan Sovraga (Цагаан суварга) to Bayanzag (Баянзаг) was not a paved road, but an off-road that crossed endless grasslands and deserts. Purgong was the optimal vehicle for driving through Mongolia's rugged nature. Although it was an old model, it went forward powerfully regardless of the sand and rocky road thanks to its strong durability and simple structure. The car shook violently and my body was thrown here and there, but the magnificent scenery outside the window made me forget all the discomfort.🛻 Not long after leaving Chagang Sobraga, the red fault cliffs disappeared and a desolate yet magnificent land spread out before my eyes. The sky was incredibly blue, and the land was a mixture of gold and red, creating a mysterious atmosphere. There were nomads' gers dotted everywhere, and sometimes you could see horses, goats, and camels crossing the road!!🐫 When I stopped the car every now and then and looked around while feeling the wind, I could hear the sounds of nature in complete silence. The sound of the wind blowing across the desert, the faint cries of animals from afar, the rustling of sand underfoot—all of these made me feel the vastness of Mongolia with my whole body.🐂 After a few hours of driving, I arrived at Bayanzak, commonly known as the ‘Flaming Cliffs’, which was spectacular with the sunset. The red cliffs blended with the sunset, looking like flames. Perhaps because it was once a place where many dinosaur fossils were discovered, the atmosphere was even more mysterious!!✌️ Riding on the Purgong and riding on the trackless road, looking out at the endless horizon, I could fully feel the grandeur and freedom of Mongolia’s nature.
