#外游 On Piazza Paolo VI, Brescia's main square, there are two very important churches. One of the newer ones is the new cathedral, the Duomo Nuovo (formally called Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta). Construction of this church began in 1604 and took more than a hundred years to finally be completed in 1825. The reason was that the plague broke out around 1630 and construction was stopped. The interior is in the shape of a Greek cross, very grand and solemn.
