Huaxilou

[Inside Huaxilou] See the art of carving The Huaxilou in Bozhou City was originally called the "Great Guandi Temple" and is also known as the Shanxi-Shaanxi Guild Hall. It was initiated and built by Wang Bi from Shanxi and Zhu Kongling from Shaanxi, and was first built in the 13th year of the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty (1656). The Huaxilou was completed in the 15th year of the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. The stage is carved with more than 600 characters from 18 plays of the Three Kingdoms. It is known as a unique feature of the Huaxilou for its exquisite carvings and gorgeous paintings. After more than 100 years of expansion during the Kangxi and Qianlong periods, the Huaxilou has become a treasure of stage architecture, with a collection of carving art. In 1988, the Huaxilou was approved by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit. This protection is of great value for the study of stage architecture, art carving, opera, and other aspects in the early and middle Qing Dynasty.
