The Blue Pond in Biei, Hokkaido, is breathtaking as sunlight falls across its surface. The waters shimmer in an indescribable shade of blue, somewhere between turquoise and emerald, shimmering in varying shades of color as the light shifts. Tree trunks stand quietly within the pond, adding a touch of mystery and poetry. Slowly walking along the wooden boardwalk, this azure wonder is truly breathtaking, a spectacle that is hard to capture in photos. The Blue Pond was originally constructed to prevent lahars from the Tokachi-dake volcano.
