If you're renting a car to visit Biei, opt for a model slightly above the compact car level. In winter, the snow seems to cushion road shocks and noise, but in summer, the asphalt transmits them directly, which can make driving more tiring. 2. You can make U-turns anywhere unless there's a 'No U-turn' sign. 3. Traffic signals between Asahikawa and Biei are short.
