Berchtesgaden

Berchtesgaden National Park (Nationalpark Berchtesgaden) was established in 1978 and is located in the southeastern part of Bavaria, Germany. It is one of the earliest protected areas in the Alpine region of Germany. The park features natural landscapes, including the crystal-clear and emerald-green Königssee and Germany's second-highest peak, Watzmann, which are among the most proud scenic spots for Germans. Berchtesgaden is also famous for Hitler's 'Eagle's Nest.'
