A Palace Painted on Water: Walking Through the Summer Palace

The Summer Palace felt like a grand, living landscape painting. The sunlight gently spread across Kunming Lake, and a single boat gliding gracefully completed the picturesque scenery. Walking along the Long Corridor, the paintings on each pillar seemed to speak to me. They carried stories and memories of the past, making the simple act of walking feel soothing and comforting. Standing atop the Buddhist Fragrance Pavilion, the view of the lake below held my gaze for a long time. In that moment, I felt like a guest of the royal family.
