Dragon Boat Festival Gathering at Zhihua Temple

Zhihua Temple in Beijing is a perfect spot for a refined gathering during the Dragon Boat Festival. Located at No. 5 Lumicang Hutong, Dongcheng District, Beijing, the temple was built in the ninth year of the Zhengtong reign during the Ming Dynasty (1444). For the 2024 Dragon Boat Festival, events will be held from June 8 to 9, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ticket sales and entry close at 4:30 PM), and on June 10, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (ticket sales and entry close at 6:30 PM). Highlights include performances of Beijing music, and on June 8 at 2:00 PM, there will be a cultural lecture titled "Beijing Music and the Art of the Guanzi at Zhihua Temple," presented by Hu Qingxue, a national-level inheritor of Beijing music. This lecture offers an in-depth exploration of the profound essence of Beijing music at Zhihua Temple. Additionally, parking around the temple is limited, so green travel is recommended. Visitors can take buses 44, 58, 650, Special 2, or Special 12 to Yabao Road Station, or buses 24 or 674 to Lumicang Station. Alternatively, take the subway to Jianguomen Station (Exit A, head north), Chaoyangmen Station (Exit H, head south), or Dengshikou Station (Exit C, head east).
