A Must-See in March! Your Guide to Admiring Pear Blossoms at Zhihua Temple

Visiting Beijing in March? Don't miss the cascading pear blossoms at Zhihua Temple, arguably the most stunning display in the city. In front of Zhihua Hall stand two ancient pear trees, over 500 years old, which erupt into a waterfall of blossoms in mid-to-late March. Recommended photo spots: Capture the blossoms and the eaves from below in front of the hall; frame the blossoms with the main hall and window shadows from the front of the Cangjing Hall (Sutra Repository Hall); capture the "rain" of pear blossoms from the west side of the hall on a breezy day; and find a modern-ancient juxtaposition from the east side of the hall. Note: Expect queues after the blossoms bloom. Arrive at 8:30 am for portrait photography. Tickets are CNY 20. The temple is closed on Mondays, and the first 300 visitors on Wednesdays enter free.
