This is my second visit! A design collision between old and new Beijing

At the Qianmen Fan Hotel Beijing, the architect ingeniously transformed the linear beauty of fan ribs into architectural language. Through progressively layered eave lines, they sketched a dynamic three-dimensional painting across the hutong skyline. A massive bronze fan sculpture at the entrance, glowing warmly in sunlight, serves as the hotel's most striking visual symbol. The rooms feature smart space design with hidden storage and liftable coffee tables that maximize living space. The bathroom is particularly stunning - terrazzo floors inlaid with copper lines, vintage showerheads paired with modern smart toilets, perfectly embodying the hotel's ethos: respecting tradition without being bound by form. Breakfast offers freshly made douzhi (fermented bean drink) with jiaoquan (crispy rings) and aiwowo (sweet rice balls) among over ten types of old Beijing pastries. Afternoon tea features mini versions of lüdagun (glutinous rice rolls), while pea cakes are stamped with the hotel logo. For dinner, the chef deconstructs and reconstructs traditional baodu (tripe dishes), pairing them with Italian balsamic vinegar for innovative yet authentic flavors. The hotel provides rich cultural experiences for guests to deeply immerse in old Beijing's lifestyle. It houses an extensive collection of books on Beijing's history and architecture, available for reading or cultural salon participation.
