Off the Beaten Path: Beijing Ming City Wall Relics Park

❤ Why we recommend it: The Ming City Wall was 25 km long and was built in 1419, over 600 years ago. The remaining section of the wall from Chongwenmen to the southeast corner tower is 1.5 km long. It is the only remaining section of the original inner city wall and is a symbol of Beijing. 🌟 Highlights: There is a small exhibition in the southeast corner tower that introduces the 16 gates of the inner and outer city walls. If you like architecture and history, don't miss it. Beijing Railway Station is on the north side of the wall, so you can see trains arriving. The tallest building in Beijing, CITIC Tower, is to the northeast, where history and modernity meet. ⏳ Time needed: 1–2 hours 👍 Our top tip: There is a coffee shop on the wall called Lotus Coffee. Sit down, look at the brick wall and the sky, and enjoy the sunshine.
