The Great Way: Confucian Culture Special Exhibition (Part 1).

Address: Meridian Gate and East and West Yanchi Tower Exhibition Halls, Palace Museum, Beijing Dates: October 1, 2024–January 5, 2025 To commemorate the 2,565th anniversary of Confucius' birth and the 30th anniversary of the International Confucian Association, the Palace Museum is holding a special exhibition titled "The Great Way". The exhibition is divided into three parts and is displayed at the Meridian Gate and East and West Yanchi Tower Exhibition Halls. After entering the Meridian Gate, head to the West Yanchi Tower Exhibition Hall. The first thing you will see is the Confucius Mirror. The top left of the mirror's front panel is a depiction of Confucius, which is the earliest known image of Confucius. This exhibition hall is called "Tracing the Origins of Confucianism" and displays early Chinese ritual pottery, divination jade, musical instruments, and bronze ware with moral and educational symbolism, which are believed to represent the origins of Confucian culture, which is rooted in early rituals, moral order, and the ritual and music system. Emperor Wu of Han chose Confucianism as the official orthodox ideology, laying the foundation for the traditional culture of the next two thousand years. (To be continued)
