Grand Canal Museum - No appointment needed, free admission

Address: City Green Heart Forest Park, Binhe South Road, Tongzhou District, Beijing The Beijing Grand Canal Museum (Capital Museum East Branch) is located in the northwest of the City Green Heart Forest Park in Beijing's sub-center, It officially started construction on October 28, 2019, and together with the nearby Beijing Art Center and Beijing City Library, it has become a new important public cultural facility in Beijing's sub-center. It interprets the relationship between 'capital' and 'city' from a historical and cultural perspective together with the Capital Museum, offering exhibitions that are distinctive and complementary. The museum's design is filled with canal elements, inspired by the ancient canal scenery of boats, sails, and water - the roof of the shared hall resembles a 'boat', the roof of the exhibition building resembles a 'sail', and there is a leisure water street about 270 meters long and 20 meters wide between the two buildings. Three large and rustic copper boats seem to be sailing through the canal.
