A Perfect 48 Hours in the Historic City of Bath✨

Just spent a magical 2 days exploring the honey-colored streets of Bath. This UNESCO World Heritage site is the perfect blend of history, culture, and relaxation. Here’s my ultimate guide for a fantastic weekend getaway! 📍Itinerary Overview: A whirlwind tour of Roman history, Georgian elegance, and classic English charm. 🚩 Sightseeing Route: Day 1: Start at the magnificent Roman Baths, then wander to the stunning Bath Abbey. Afternoon spent exploring the Pulteney Bridge and weir. Finished with a sunset stroll through the Royal Crescent and The Circus. Day 2: Indulged in the famous Thermae Bath Spa (the rooftop pool is a must!), followed by a deep dive into Jane Austen's Bath at the Jane Austen Centre. Last stop: some retail therapy in the beautiful, independent shops. 🏖️ Must-Visit Attractions: 1. The Roman Baths: Step back 2,000 years. Absolutely unmissable. 2. Thermae Bath Spa: Soaking in the warm, mineral-rich waters with a 360° view of the city. 3. Royal Crescent & The Circus: Iconic examples of Georgian architecture. The perfect photo op! 🚇 Transportation: The best way to explore Bath is on foot! The city centre is incredibly compact and walkable. We arrived by train (Bath Spa Station) which is right in the heart of the city. 📷 Photo Spots: * Pulteney Bridge: Get the classic shot of the bridge and weir. * The Royal Crescent: Stand in the middle of the lawn for the perfect symmetrical shot. * Bath Abbey Tower: Climb the tower for an breathtaking panoramic view of the city. * The Circus: For that perfect Georgian architecture circle. 🍜 Local Cuisine: You can't leave without trying: * A traditional Sally Lunn Bun (the oldest house in Bath!). * A proper Cream Tea (clotted cream first, always!). * Many Thai restaurants and good Italian restaurants! 🏠 Accommodation: We stayed at the Apex City of Bath Hotel. Perfect location, modern and spacious rooms, and best of all – an incredible heated indoor pool to relax in after a day of exploring. Highly recommend! Bath, you were an absolute dream! 💛 #travelbath #visitbath #bathuk #uktravel #weekendgetaway #history #romanbaths #janeausten #sallylunn #apexhotel
