Worship Luang Por Phet and Luang Por Sukhothai

🏡 Wat Chaiyathit is believed to have been built during the late Ayutthaya period, as evidenced by the architecture of the ordination hall that still remains. It is thought to have been constructed alongside Wat Chaiyachit (Wat Bang Khun Non) and is said to have been built by the royal officials of the Rear Palace during the Rattanakosin era after their victory over enemies. Key attractions and highlights within the temple include: 🏠 The ordination hall: Likely built during the late Ayutthaya period, it originally lacked decorative elements like chofah and bai raka. These were added during renovations. The hall features a porch covering both the front and back, and the sema stones are intricately carved from small sandstone, showcasing a unique style dating back to the reign of King Narai. ⛺ The vihara: Crafted by artisans during the reign of King Rama IV, this Thai-style building has a two-tiered roof adorned with chofah, bai raka, and naga heads. The roof is tiled with Mon-style tiles, and the gable is carved with flame-like patterns. The door and window frames are decorated with floral and leaf motifs in stucco. Inside, Luang Por Phet serves as the principal Buddha image, alongside Luang Por Sukhothai, a bronze Buddha statue in the Mara Vichaya posture. 🛕 The prang: Features a two-tiered base, with the lower tier being circular and decorated with melon-like patterns, and the upper tier designed in an octagonal shape. 🗼 The bell tower: A two-story brick and plaster structure in Gothic-style architecture.
