Wat Khun Chan This temple is considered an ancient temple that has been on the Thonburi side and Talat Phlu area for more than a hundred years. It was built around 1827-1837 during the reign of King Rama III, approximately 177 years old, by Phraya Maha Amatayathibodi (Pom Amatayakul). At that time, it was named “Wat Khun Chan” because the builder of this temple was victorious from Vientiane. Then, during the reign of King Rama V, it was renovated and renamed by King Rama V, “Wat Waramatyaphanthasararam”. Most of the architecture of Wat Khun Chan is a beautiful blend of Thai and Burmese art. There are many sacred objects to worship, such as Luang Pho To, Luang Pho Yok Khao, Kuan Im Petch Ngam, the reclining Buddha, Phra Buddha Chinnarat, etc. But the most outstanding thing is probably Phra Rahu. This is because there is a ceremony to ward off bad luck for the unlucky year and to worship Phra Rahu. There is a ceremony to chant the Navagraha Rahu prayer every year. It can be said that it is one of the famous temples on the list related to Phra Rahu. Anyone who wants to pay homage to Phra Rahu or ward off bad luck or bad luck must travel to Wat Khun Chan.
