The atmosphere was peaceful, and surprisingly, there were very few tourists from China. Free entry and complimentary snacks for visitors, Theravāda Buddhism encourages sharing and spreading the teachings. Monks here still follow the tradition of alms collection—eating whatever is offered, without rejecting meat. It feels like a closer connection to Buddha’s original way of life.
