A Stunning Old Temple

We absolutely loved the old Chinese architecture of this ancient Temple dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, how nice . Built in 1728 it is probably the oldest Chinese Buddhist Temple in Penang. We were there a couple of days ago and it was very busy with worshipers, there were huge incense sticks burning so the perfume and smoke were quite plentiful. Also they had big briars burning the incense sticks and other decorations that people were tipping into the fires. It is a religious thing I believe, buy like a prayer stick and put it in the fire and your prayers and wishes will be heard by the power above and hopefully come true . A great atmosphere, well worth a visit, a beautiful building.
