The Acropolis is truly an Ancient wonder to be discovered!

A Greek odyssey, Athens is straight out of a book of history. Tales of myths and legends abound, this city transports you straight back to the classical period. And then some. The centrepiece of the city is the acropolis. Basically, the whole city has been built around this historic masterpiece. No matter where you look in the city, you’re treating to views on this ancient wonder. Wandering around this site, I couldn’t help but marvel in the significance of the history and the culture on show here. Thousands of years of history, with stories of people’s lives intertwined and contained within the palaces and edifices that remain. Many of their stories may be long forgotten but the walls that remain are the only witness to the scandals, the loves and losses that have taken place here over the millennia of activity within this incredible citadel. It’s not just during the day time that this place will leave you in a sense of wonder and awe. Make sure you head to one of the many vantage points in the city to catch a sunset, such as Mount Lycabettus like I did. And stay for golden hour. To see Athens and the Acropolis is now a core memory that I’m sure I’ll never forget.
