Yuanjue Cave is named after the Twelve Bodhisattvas of Perfect Enlightenment carved during the Northern Song Dynasty. The cliff carvings are exquisite, spanning the Tang Dynasty, Five Dynasties, and Song Dynasty, and took over 400 years to complete the 1,933 Buddha statues on the mountain. Yuanjue Cave has three 7-meter-high stone statues of the Three Saints of the West. In other places, the Three Saints of the West are carved in one niche, but here they are carved in separate niches, which is unique to the Anyue Grottoes. Among them, the "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva" of the Five Dynasties in Yuanjue Cave is the earliest appearance in southern China; the "Hell Transformation" niche of the Five Dynasties is the earliest in China. Yuanjue Cave's stone carvings are dignified, full, and thick, with thin clothes clinging to the body and flying skirts, exuding the charm of "Cao's clothes out of the water" and "Wu's belt in the wind."
