Strolling through Amsterdam, the city of bicycles

Before going, a friend informed me: it is said that 40% of the transportation in Amsterdam is by bicycle, and out of the 700,000 residents, as many as 550,000 own bicycles. After going there, I believed it! There are three types of traffic lights on the streets: one for motor vehicles, one for pedestrians, and a separate one for bicycles! The multi-level parking lots by the riverbanks are actually for parking bicycles🚲. Seeing this for the first time was truly spectacular... The Jordaan district is located in the west of Amsterdam, where a young Jewish girl wrote the famous 'The Diary of Anne Frank.' (p9-p10) We went there during Easter, and it was a cloudy day with drizzling rain, which gave a special flavor to our walk through the streets. When traveling to a place, the most authentic charm of the city is indeed found in the old town. The Jordaan district is such a place for Amsterdam.
