Local Art and Archaeology Exhibition at a Historic Palace

Exploring the Spanish Central Plateau ~ Ciudad Real (Region) The Castle of San Juan (Alcázar de San Juan) houses a 16th-century palace built by Don Diego de Sanabria, a native of Medellín in Extremadura. Currently, it features a significant space where visitors can view Roman artifacts discovered in the town of Alcázar de San Juan. Although the museum is small, it offers ample space for Roman archaeology enthusiasts to explore. Inside, there is a central courtyard in a classical style supported by columns. On the upper floor, visitors can enjoy a rotating art exhibition space, showcasing works by various artists throughout the year. These exhibitions are updated regularly, featuring some of the most renowned pieces by the participating artists. The museum is conveniently located on a back street behind the town hall, making it easily accessible for visitors looking to enjoy these cultural facilities. During our visit, we attended a fascinating rotating exhibition, and we highly recommend this experience.
