| A hidden gem, a paradise on earth. According to historical records, in 1218, Genghis Khan led the Mongolian cavalry on a large-scale westward expedition. The Mongolian army set out from Karakorum, the capital of Mongolia, south of Lake Baikal, and traveled along the Mongolian grasslands through Uliastai, crossed the Qinlaike Wuer Mogeitai Gorge in the east of the Altai Mountains, and reached the source of the Kuran River. Then they went downstream and camped by the Stone River (now called the Irtysh River) in June 1219. They traveled north and camped here to rest and water their horses, so it is known as the "Genghis Khan Horse Pond." 🌱 Baisha Lake is a pure land hidden in the Pamir Plateau, a stunning landscape on the Pamir Plateau in Xinjiang. 🌱 Along the China-Pakistan Friendship Road, from Kashgar to Tashkurgan, the road winds westward into the Pamir Plateau.
