Bike and hike around Akaroa's 45-degree leaning tree

The first choice is to rent a bicycle and explore the half-moon bay formed by the crater along the Beach Road bicycle trail. Passing by the French red-roofed and white-walled buildings on Rue Lavaud, you can stop by the Akaroa Museum (free to the public, showing the history of the integration of French colonial and Maori culture), then ride to the Long Bay Road Observation Deck to overlook the volcanic coastline and pastures in the distance. On the way, you can see the "Leaning Tower of Pisa Tree" shaped by the sea breeze🌊🌊🌊. The lighthouse was originally built in 1880 and was cut into three sections and moved here in 1978. Those who are more energetic can challenge the Akaroa Headland Walk, where you can overlook the original site of the lighthouse and the cruise bay. We returned to the town in the evening and ordered a beef stew in red wine (about 30 New Zealand dollars) at Ma Maison French restaurant.
