【France】Aix-en-Provence Saint-Sauveur Cathedral

This historic church is a symbol of Aix-en-Provence. Built on the site of a Roman temple, it showcases architectural styles from the 5th to the 17th century. Initially constructed in Romanesque style, it was later expanded and renovated in Gothic style. Notable features include the 16th-century wooden carved doors at the main entrance and the Romanesque cloister, which are must-sees. The cloister can only be visited with a guided tour, held every hour and lasting about an hour. Among its treasures is the famous altarpiece "The Burning Bush" by Nicolas Froment, which is only displayed a few times a year. Aix is also the birthplace of Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne (1839–1906), and this cathedral was the site of his baptism and funeral.
