Guo Yu Old Town (郭峪古城) is located in Jincheng, Shanxi Province, China. Accessible by private car or bus, it it located almost directly opposite the House of the Huangcheng Chancellor. Cross the small square and you can buy tickets at the front gate. Once inside, you will be lost in a maze of small courtyards and alleys, decorated with beautifully-colorer umbrellas...providing a perfect backdrop for taking photos. The architecture is old and charming and walk to the back to see the impressive tower for a close-up photo. It is quiet here during the daytime because this place comes to life at night, where it is lit up and many tourists come to witness the pretty spectacle. The famous House of the Huangcheng Chancellor (皇城相府-总宪府) is located near to to the city of Jincheng in northern China's Shanxi Province. This place can be reached by car or bus and the best time to visit is Spring or Summer, as the warm sunshine allows for good photo conditions. Tour guides are available at the front gate, along with maps and souvenirs. The place itself is fantastic for exploring, as there are numerous small alleyways and courtyards. You can also go inside the many buildings and see the beautiful relics and artefacts. The architecture is stunning and mysterious at the same time. Climb to the upper terrrace to see the wonderful tower and a panorama of the surrounding countryside. The first time I saw the Glazed Hanging Pavilion Pagoda at Haihui Temple, I was captivated by its exquisite glazed decorations. Although I had previously been amazed by the Feihong Pagoda at Guangsheng Temple in Hongtong County, the two pagodas each have their own unique charm. Standing on the stone path, you can see the Glazed Hanging Pavilion Pagoda and the Sarira Pagoda standing side by side, one tall and one short, from a distance. They accompany each other, quietly observing the changing seasons and the blooming and falling of flowers. The construction of this Glazed Hanging Pavilion Pagoda dates back to the 40th year of the Jiajing reign in the Ming Dynasty. The pagoda has an octagonal shape with thirteen tiers and stands approximately 40 meters tall. A flat terrace was built at the tenth tier and is supported by eight groups of eaves pillars. From afar, it looks like a pavilion in the air. This tier also incorporates many glazed decorative components and is praised by experts and scholars as a "classic representative of Chinese pavilion-style pagodas." It is said that the essence of all world-renowned cathedrals lies in their towering domes, as in Western religions, getting as close as possible to God's height is the way to receive divine protection. Therefore, height is one of the important criteria for the construction of many ancient Western buildings. When I saw the Glazed Hanging Pavilion Pagoda, its towering presence, seemingly reaching for the sky, made me wonder if the emperor who ordered its construction was also expressing his desire to question the heavens. Influenced by Black Myth: Wukong, we went to Shanxi and visited Jincheng, Shanxi. In addition to visiting the Jade Emperor Temple, we also checked in at the Imperial City Prime Minister's Mansion, which is located in Beiliu Town, Yangcheng County. We chose to drive there, and it took 35 minutes from Jincheng County to the entrance of the scenic area. After arriving at the entrance of the scenic area, we could only take the scenic area sightseeing bus to reach the scenic spot. The adult ticket (including the Imperial City Prime Minister's Mansion, Guoyu Ancient City and Haihui Academy) + sightseeing bus ticket was 170 yuan/person. If we walked around, we might only buy the ticket, but after comparison, we found that the package ticket was more cost-effective. The Imperial City Prime Minister's Mansion is the former residence of Chen Tingjing, the teacher of Emperor Kangxi, also known as "Wuting Mountain Village". The layout of the entire Prime Minister's Mansion is designed with three entrances and three exits, including the outer courtyard, the city wall, and the inner courtyard. It is beautiful while being able to resist foreign invasions. At the same time, from the composition of the residents in the Prime Minister's Mansion, it reflects the characteristics of family group living and the emphasis on imperial examinations and official careers. |Rare in the World. Haihui Temple was first built in the Sui Dynasty. In the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Zhaozong of Tang, Li Ye, gave it the name "Longquan Zen Temple," and Emperor Taizong of Song, Zhao Guangyi, gave it the name "Haihui Temple." There are two pagodas in Haihui Temple. The shorter one is called Liang Pagoda, which was first built in the second year of Longde in the Later Liang Dynasty of the Five Dynasties. It was a pagoda built to commemorate the relics of Master Shunfan, the builder of the temple. The taller one next to it is called Ming Pagoda, which was built in the 44th year of Jiajing. It is a 13-story octagonal brick pagoda. Since the 10th floor of the pagoda has a circle of glazed flat seats in the style of a hanging pavilion, it is also called the Glazed Hanging Pavilion Pagoda. Usually, the pagoda that can be visited is the taller one, but the aisle is a bit narrow. The view from the top is truly spectacular, with a bridge spanning two mountains on one side and the recently renovated Haihui Temple on the other. A fee of CNY 30 is required to climb the pagoda. Transportation: Take bus 201 from Jincheng East Bus Station (Bus Station) and get off at Haihui Temple Station. Walk for five minutes to reach the Haihui Temple Visitor Center.

Shengwangping Scenic Area is located at the top of Xicheng Mountain in Yangcheng County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province. The main peak is 1,888 meters above sea level, making it the largest subalpine meadow in North China. Xicheng Mountain, also known as Shengwangping or Dongping, covers an area of 20 square kilometers and is a provincial-level geological park in Shanxi.
