I also called 11 months in advance when reservations were on sale😄✨ A mountain inn. You can only understand the luxury and splendor in the silence by staying there. The hospitality at check-in. Introducing a long-established miso shop in Suzaka City, Nagano Prefecture. Nagano Prefecture is famous for Shinshu miso, and there are many long-established miso shops scattered around. This shop originally sold salt, and has been a long-established miso shop since the end of the Edo period. When I visited in early November, chrysanthemum flowers were lined up beautifully in front of the shop. They sell many types of miso and soy sauce. #cherryblossom25 Suzaka Garyu Park was such a surprise — it’s like a local secret that bursts into full glory during cherry blossom season. The park wraps around a pond, creating endless reflections of fluffy pink trees. When I visited, food stalls popped up selling taiyaki and yakitori, and families gathered for cheerful hanami picnics. It had a festive, warm atmosphere that felt very real and uncommercialized. I rented a tiny rowboat and floated among fallen petals — easily one of my most peaceful cherry blossom moments ever. For my #cherryblossom25 post, I snapped a shot from the boat, with sakura branches arching over the water and soft ripples breaking the reflection. If you want to experience cherry blossoms the way locals do, without big tourist crowds, Suzaka Garyu Park is an absolute winner.

Nagano Prefecture Matsubaya in Suzaka City, Nagano Prefecture This is a famous soba restaurant, and when I went there about 30 minutes after it opened on a weekday, it was already almost full! 😳 There is a parking lot right in front of the restaurant, but there aren't many, so I think timing is important. I ordered tempura soba. The smooth soba noodles and crispy tempura were delicious, and it was truly exquisite. #traveldiaries Mount Azumaya (四阿山, Azumaya-san) is a stratovolcano in Japan. The 2,354-metre-high (7,723 ft) peak lies on the border of Nagano Prefecture and Gunma Prefecture. Located on the border between Nagano and Gunma prefectures, it is also called Azumayama or Azumayama on the Gunma side. Its gentle slope makes it look like a roof from any angle. It is an old volcano (not currently active), and the Yonako Daibakufu, one of Japan's 100 best waterfalls, located in the valley on the north side, is one of its remnants. The main course to the summit starts at Sugadaira Plateau on the western foot of the mountain. Passing through Sugadaira Ranch (paid entry), one heads for Mount Azumaya and the neighboring Mt. Nekodake. In the saddle between Mount Azumaya and Mt. Nekodake is a wide grassland known as O-sukima, with a view reminiscent of the European Alps. Wolong Park is located on Wolong Mountain, which resembles a flying dragon lying down. It is a famous viewing spot known for its view of the Northern Alps of Japan, also known as the Hokushin Five Peaks. At the center of the park is the expansive Longchi Pond, surrounded by over a hundred cherry trees. The main variety is the Somei Yoshino cherry, which is pure white with a hint of pink. The park's most distinctive feature is the breathtaking view of the cherry blossoms in full bloom against the backdrop of the snow-capped Hokushin Five Peaks. At the end of the blooming period, the petals cover the surface of the pond, and the ripples of cherry blossoms stirred by the breeze are one of the most beautiful sights to see in Wolong Park. Whether boating on the pond or admiring from the shore, the experience is equally moving. The park hosts the Wolong Cherry Blossom Festival to coincide with the cherry blossom season, held annually from early to mid-April. During this time, visitors can also enjoy the dreamy view of the night cherry blossoms and the brilliant red sunset slowly descending the mountains. #thingstodo Staff are very accomodating. We walked around the pond in the middle and I took many pictures of my family and the trees. The mountains in the distance framed the pictures really well with a little snow still on top. There are many places to grab an icecream or a little snake and the facilities were clean. Everybody was enjoying the spring feeling and there were smiles on everyone's faces.
