[Egypt-Luxor] The most beautiful Egyptian temple in my mind-Dendera Temple
Today I want to introduce a temple that is easily overlooked when you go to Luxor, but it is so beautiful that you can’t miss it - the Temple of Dendera
The Temple of Dendera is the most beautiful temple in terms of appearance and color among the many temples I visited in Egypt during my 17-day trip. It is also the place where you can see the story of my favorite goddess, Nut, who is the sky goddess in Egyptian mythology.
We chartered a car to Dendera, which is about a 2-hour drive from Luxor to Dendera. This temple on the west bank of the Nile is rich in culture and history. In particular, the constellation ceiling here is famous for its mysterious and complex patterns and is a treasure of ancient Egyptian architectural art.
The temple is renowned for its intricate decoration, detailed depictions of ancient gods, mysterious hieroglyphics and stunning astronomical ceiling paintings. The temple was dedicated to the goddess Hathor, who was revered as the goddess of love, fertility and music. The temple's preserved azure blue color is impressive.
We arrived at the temple at 9:45 and stayed there until 3 pm before leaving, which took a total of five hours. When we came out, the chartered car driver said that we really liked the Dendera Temple, hahahaha 🤣 I guess he must have been waiting for us outside for too long. Most people plan to spend two hours at the Dendera Temple, but we spent five hours there, purely because we wanted to take our time to look around, and it really worked to cram before going there! I recommend that you search for "Stanmark" on YT. He has a lot of great content introducing Egyptian attractions. I recommend that you find it yourself. The content is much more solid than some travel YouTubers!
We also met a Taiwanese family of three. They came without any preparation. When they heard us chatting, they asked us where we wanted to see something. We took them to see it and shared with them how to read the constellations, the calendar, and the pictures of the light bulb and the Pharaoh's hat we found.
My friend and I both agree that the Karnak Temple and the Dendera Temple are the two temples most worth visiting!
As for other temples, now thinking back, I feel that the content and the completeness of the murals are a little lacking. Doing homework and leaving enough time to appreciate them carefully allowed us to immerse ourselves in this environment more and it was worth the ticket money!
🌆 17:00 - Depart for Cairo
In the evening, we arrived at Luxor Airport, ready to bid farewell to this historic city and meet our next stop in Cairo. Here, we commemorate every moment in Luxor and appreciate the unique charm of this mysterious place.
🛫 Travel to Cairo - A new adventure begins
Ready for a new adventure, we boarded a plane to Cairo, looking forward to exploring more of Egypt’s wonders in this city. Friends told us that we might not be able to enjoy the peaceful life like in Aswan and Luxor in the future, but it’s a good thing that we didn’t go to Cairo first, so our disgust for Egypt is not that serious at the moment. Hahahaha, we are just practicing in the Novice Village before facing the big devil!
This one-day farewell trip to Luxor is filled with divine touches and welcomes new adventures in Cairo! 🌟🌆 #denderatemple
