There were cheap shared buses available, but we chartered a tourist taxi in the town of Leh. (Since this was my first time at such an altitude, I opted for peace of mind over price. Reservations are required for taxis.) - There were three parking and accommodation options on-site, but the taxi driver recommended the furthest spot, which was close to the lake and quiet, so we stayed in a homestay-style accommodation. It was a great decision! 👏 If you've come this far, I highly recommend staying overnight. Another important destination on my first trip to Leh was to visit Pangong Lake ❄️ In April 🗓️ the weather was still freezing 🥶 along the way there was light snow falling all the way ❄️ making the atmosphere look like something out of a movie but adding more beauty and romance to the journey 🚗🗻 Although the route was a bit difficult, when I reached the lake, everything was worth it 💙 The crystal clear blue lake contrasted with the backdrop of the stunning snow-capped mountains. No matter where I looked, I felt like I was in heaven on earth 🌈✨ The atmosphere was peaceful and the cool breeze was refreshing. It was truly an unforgettable experience 🌍💫

My journey began in Leh, a tranquil mountain town adorned with monasteries, prayer flags, and warm, welcoming smiles. Pangong Tso left me utterly mesmerized. Watching the sunrise from a tent by the lake was an experience I’ll never forget. Tso Moriri was even more remote and untouched. First you have to catch a small bus to Choglamsar and from there a shared taxi to Thiksey monastery. It is a bit confusing but locals are helpful and will point put where to get in and out. The monastery is huge and it took me over 3 hours of slowly walking and exploring. It has lots of passages and rooftop access at different levels. Photography inside monastery rooms isn't allowed but tourists still can go inside and see the interiors. Additional bonus were blooming apricot trees 😍 That happened in mid April.

I went on a rental scooter and the trip was wonderful! The road is good, the views of surrounding mountains are stunning and the monastery itself is serene and tranquil. The monastery wasn't crowded and lots of monks were everywhere. I walked through different rooms and passages, enjoyed the view from rooftops and then just sat on one of the benches at the yard and enjoyed details of the temple buildings and listened to chanting. Overall, highly recommend this place. Tip: beware that you must take off your shoes to go inside. Tip 2: they ask not to take photos inside the monastery, please, be respectful.

I came to Helus Monastery in Ladakh, India. It's about 1.5 hours by rental motorbike from the city of Leh. The 17th century monastery is quietly located in a remote valley. There are almost no tourists, so you can enjoy sightseeing comfortably. I came to Thiksey Gompa in Ladakh, India. It is about an hour by rental motorbike from the city of Leh. There is a monastery at the top, and it is colorful and has a large, spiritual atmosphere, so it is quite worth seeing inside. The entrance fee is 50 rupees. I came to Pangong Tso in Ladakh, India. Pangong Tso is a lake that became famous in the Indian movie 3 Idiots. Unfortunately, it was frozen in April, but we were able to walk on the frozen lake. Tourists were taking photos on it. When the lake is not frozen, it is a beautiful, clear blue lake that is extremely popular with Indians.
