2025 Jurmala Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in June)

While visiting Riga for a few days you should plan for a half day for visiting one of the beaches , not far away from the city. we choose to visit Jutmala. It’s about a 30 minute train ride away and only cost less than 5euro for a round trip! The train ride is a great way to see and meet the local people of Latvia. In Juvenal we spend 1 h just walking up and down the beach. After the walk we wanted some coffee, so we went in to town and walk around for a hunt! we found a cafe with some lovely cakes and drinks. we walk the street up in the little town and look at all the shops. Mostly cloths and souvenirs things. I got myself a scarf with Latvia red and white color. When our feet stared to hurt we went back to the train station and went back to Riga again. 

When I said tornado I actually meant I regretted doing Estonia Latvia and Lithuania in just a few days. What I should have done is to do a deep dive of some 14 days in the three countries. But if 5-6 days are all you have (essentially 1-2 days in each country)… The good thing here is that the capital cities of Tallinn Riga and Vilnius are generally extremely compact and walkable. You can practically do each of the capitals in 1 day. The nice thing is that they have very different vibes and they don’t quite repeat Tallinn you go for the medieval architecture and the very well maintained/refurbished city wall. Riga is gothic. Vilnius is more baroque but has a healthy dose of contemporary art and hipster vibe The museums require some strategising because all 3 countries showcase their ww2 and independence struggles. All 3 capitals feature a liberation museum and a kgb house of sorts. I personally did only the riga ones and cannot compare, but I’d say these are fairly comprehensive exhibitions that can take you 2-3 hours. Do note that different countries have different days where everyone goes to museums for free and days where practically no museums are open. The other thing to plan are the day trips. Day trips from Riga include one to a castle town which I skipped in favour of an outting to the beaches of Jūrmala and the trek around the famous bogs of kemeri. Day trips from Vilnius include another castle town (Trakai) and the mounds of Kernave. There’s generally quite a few things to choose from. But what’s definitely in extra supply in Eastern Europe are castles and city walls….and I’d say don’t wear yourself out with castle after castle unless you are a true architecture enthusiast Not much else to say that you can’t research online. These three countries are truly places you can go cashless (bar latvia where there are still places that don’t do public transport tap and go). Intra city is very well covered by flixbus (4 hour max city to city) Of course if you are renting a car all the merrier there’s so many more places you can cover…

I have been having great moments while visiting Lithuania, Latvia and soon Estonia. The Old Towns are so magnificent. I managed to visit other towns/cities aside from capitals. Wish to come back and explore more! Lithuania - Don’t forget to visit Trakai, Kaunas! Latvia - Take a chance to explore Cēsis and Jūrmala. Both towns are easy-accessed by train from capital, Rīga.

The horizon stretched endlessly, tinged with soft golds and pinks, while the water—shallow and calm—mirrored the sky like a watercolor painting. Wading out into the sea, I could walk for what felt like forever with the water barely reaching my knees. It made the whole experience feel dreamlike—floating between sky and sea. Kids played freely, couples strolled hand in hand, and the occasional seagull called overhead, adding to the tranquility. If you ever find yourself in Latvia, take a slow evening here. Don’t rush it. Let the wind wrap around you, feel the cool sand between your toes, and just be still with the sunset. Today, I went to Jūrmala is a Latvian resort city, I started from Riga Central Railway Station to Majori station to go to Jūrmala beach which is resort city on the Gulf of Riga. Because I went there low season, people are not much and around area is quiet and good with for walking and get some fresh air also enjoy the sea view. Nearby the beach, there has shops and restaurants to services and Orthodox Church of the Kazan which is spotlight that tourist went to take a photo.

Beautiful Warsaw, great Christmas atmosphere, great climate, a very happy journey, delicious spicy cheese, a variety of choices, I love cheese with blueberry wine. I don't feel cold. The snow-white ruins and Mozart's symphony are embedded in my heart. The reflection of the snow-covered lake is so beautiful that I don't want to leave and I forgot to take a few more photos. It makes me happy to witness that the temperature of minus 20 degrees can make me feel warm just because of the beautiful natural scenery.
