Newly opened cafe in Phichit
#NewCafe2023
Today we will introduce you to a newly opened cafe that people who go there must really go to, especially if they are not locals. And we really like this shop.
This cafe is called "Make Sense". It can't be called a secret cafe because this cafe is located in Tha Khao Singto Thong. It is a very large pier. Who would have known that there was a hidden cafe if you didn't really intend to go?
The cafe is not very big (compared to the total area of Tha Khao). It is decorated in a modern style. You can take cool pictures.
There are many menus to choose from, especially for coffee lovers. They have a lot of coffee beans to choose from. Specialty lovers should not miss it. And most importantly, the price is very good. I love it so much. The coffee is very good and the price is 60-65 baht. This taste in Bangkok is hundreds. (Don't raise the price yet 😅)
For those who don't drink coffee, they have many other menus to choose from. Tea, soda, cocoa, and they are very careful to make them. Decorate the glasses beautifully, expensive, and very delicious.
If you are tired of sitting in the shop, walk outside. There is a garden. The atmosphere is very good. The green garden is surrounded by water. The cool breeze is very inviting.
The owner is very cute, attentive, gives advice, asks for feedback. In short, it's very good. I love this shop!!!!!!

🏡 Wat Khlong Khun is a temple in a village but is famous nationwide. Devotees often travel to visit the beautiful murals, the story of the Ten Lives of the Lord Buddha and pray to the King of the Chakravartin (the posture of provoking Thao Chomphu Phan), an applied Rattanakosin art style, and the Buddha statue for the birth year of Luang Pho Wan (the year of the pig) inside the new chapel of the temple.
🙏 Another reason to visit this temple is Luang Pho Wan (he passed away in 2564) due to his devotion to him. While he was still alive, he was a monk with beautiful conduct and strict adherence to the Dharma. In his daily routine, he would come out to sit and wait to welcome relatives, devotees, and disciples who came to pay homage every day. He was kind to all his disciples equally.
🙏 Luang Pho Wan continuously developed the temple and the minds of the villagers. He is the center of the community. He is honored as another leading monk.

The Lord Buddha entered nirvana, the only one at Wat Tha Lo.
#triptravelchina
🏚Wat Tha Lo was built around 2410. Inside the temple, there is a chapel, but it is not known when it was built. Inside, there are paintings of the life of the Ten Lives of the Buddha and an ancient Buddha statue in the posture of the Buddha entering nirvana. It is assumed to be a Buddha statue from the Rattanakosin period.
🙏The Buddha entering nirvana is a posture created according to the life of the Buddha, during the cremation of the Buddha's body in Kusinara. It is rarely seen in general temples. The most complete statue is enshrined in the Luang Pho Phueng temple or the old chapel of Wat Tha Lo.
🏡It was originally enshrined in the Luang Ta Krim temple. When the Fine Arts Department came to restore the paintings in the temple in 2545, they were moved to the Luang Pho Phueng temple.
🙏 According to Buddhist beliefs, if you come to pay respect to the feet and the coffin of the Buddha and pray for what you want, everything will be fulfilled.
🙏Another sacred Buddha image of the temple is Phra Phuttha Sila Maha Muninat (Luang Pho Hin), a Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture, enshrined in the Luang Pho Hin shrine.

Important and interesting things in the temple include:
🙏 Three large outdoor Buddha statues: the Buddha in the Mara-Vijaya posture, the Buddha in the Reclining Buddha posture, and the Buddha in the Reclining Buddha posture.
🏠 Wihan Luang Pho Nak is an old ordination hall. Inside is the principal Buddha statue named Luang Pho Nak, a carved stone Buddha statue with a full and complete Buddha image, different from the Buddha statues in Chiang Saen, Sukhothai, and Rattanakosin periods.
🛕 The large pagoda was built in 1974. Around the pagoda are 108 Tripitaka cabinets. Inside the pagoda, there is a secret underground room for storing 84,000 brick tablets inscribed with the Tripitaka.

Visit the church and pay respect to the Sukhothai-era Buddha statue.
#triptravelchina
🙏Wat Nakhon Chum was built in the Sukhothai period. Locals call it Wat Yai because it used to be the place for the water pouring ceremony and was the provincial temple of the old city of Phichit.
👨👩👦👦The name of Wat Nakhon Chum means a gathering place for people.
🏠The old temple used to be the place for Luang Pho Phet, an important Buddha image of Phichit. The old temple was damaged and is now a new one with Luang Pho Phan as the principal Buddha image.
🏘Later, this temple was combined with Wat Khema Phirataram, which was adjacent and abandoned. As a result, the old chapel of Wat Khema Phirataram, which is in the Sukhothai style and is no less than 800 years old, became the chapel of Wat Nakhon Chum today.
🏠This old chapel is built of bricks and plastered with cement. The upper part is made of wood, using wooden studs instead of nails. Holes were drilled in the walls instead of windows, similar to chapels and temples from the Sukhothai period. It used to be the place of enshrining two Buddha images: Luang Pho Phet (Wat Tha Luang) and Luang Pho Phan.
🙏Currently, the principal Buddha image in the chapel is a Sukhothai-era Buddha image that has been repaired and re-gilded. In the past, it was the principal Buddha image in the water pouring ceremony of Phra Pipat Satya.
🏕 Wat Nakhon Chum is the only temple in the old city of Phichit that is not an abandoned temple. The villagers have used it as a place to make merit.

Pay respect to Luang Pho Phet and Luang Pho Phat of Wat Tha Luang.
#triptravelchina
🏕Wat Tha Luang, a third-class royal temple, is an ancient temple of Phichit. There is no clear evidence of when it was first built, but there is evidence that it was built in 1845 during the reign of King Rama III. At that time, it was a monastery and had not yet received the royal charter of the boundary of the temple.
🙏 Inside the temple is Luang Pho Phet, a Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, Chiang Saen style, which is over 800 years old and cast from bronze. It has beautiful Buddha characteristics.
🙏 According to history, Phra Phichit, the governor of the city, wanted to enshrine the principal Buddha image in the city. When the Ayutthaya army passed through the city to suppress the Chom Thong rebellion in Chiang Mai, Phra Phichit asked the commander that if the rebellion was suppressed, he should bring a Buddha image to bring back.
🏞 When the battle was over, the commander invited the Luang Pho Phet Buddha image to be floated on a gourd-shaped raft down the Ping River and left it with the governor of Kamphaeng Phet. The governor of Phichit invited it to be enshrined at Wat Nakhon Chum (old Phichit town) and then moved it to be enshrined at the ordination hall of Wat Tha Luang, Mueang Phichit District, until today. 🙏In addition, inside the temple, there is also Luang Pho Phat (Phat), the first Buddha image of Wat Tha Luang, enshrined in the Luang Pho Phat chapel in front of the ordination hall of Luang Pho Phet.

🐟 Wat Kha Mang is a temple of Kha Mang sub-district. It was built in 2125 B.E. The word Kha Mang comes from the name of a fish species that is abundant in the village, which is "Pla Kamang" (not listed in the list of fish species) that has red fins and looks like a carp. Later, from Kha Mang, it was distorted to Kha Mang and Kha Mang in the present.
🙏 When King Rama V visited Phichit in 2444 B.E., he also visited Ban Kha Mang.
Important and interesting things in the temple include:
🏘 Ubosot, built in 2485 B.E., Sala Karn Parian, built in 2501 B.E.
🏠 A four-sided prayer hall. On the roof top is a Lopburi-style prang, built in 2479 B.E.
🙏 A life-size statue of Luang Pho Phit, a monk who is revered by people in many provinces. He died of old age. When his remains were collected, it was amazing that both of his eyes did not burn out. Later, a statue of him was cast and his eyes were enshrined in Wat Khamang as a symbol of his devotion to the faith that he holds to this day.

🏡Wat Huadong was built in 1870. It has important and interesting things:
🧱The old chapel is a lotus-shaped building made of brick and mortar. There are entrances and exits to the chapel both in the front and back. Above the door, there are stucco decorations. There is no ceiling.
🏡The new chapel was completed in 1986 by inviting a replica of the Buddha image, Luang Pho Phet, the principal Buddha image from the original chapel to be enshrined inside the chapel.
🏕The sermon hall enshrines the Chiang Saen Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture, Phra Moggallana and Phra Sariputta.
🏕The monks' huts enshrine Buddha images from the Chiang Saen, Sukhothai and U Thong periods.
🙏This temple used to be the residence of Luang Pho Phit, a revered monk. He was an important force in building the first Ubosot in 1925. 🏡Wat Khao Rup Chang was built in 2244 at the same time as Wat Pho Prathap Chang during the reign of Phra Si Sanphet VIII or King Suea. The Samuha Nayok, who controlled the soldiers to build Wat Pho Prathap Chang according to his wishes, found that the mountain top looked like an elephant.
⛰The Samuha Nayok saw that it was a suitable place to build a temple and a place to stay on high ground to inspect the terrain and ensure the safety of the soldiers. When it was completed, it was named "Wat Khao Rup Chang" according to the white stones stacked together in the shape of a kneeling elephant on the mountaintop. Important and interesting things in the temple include:
🛕Sri Lankan-style pagoda located on the mountaintop with white stones stacked together looking like an elephant. It was built during the reign of King Rama III and later renovated. It was decorated with gold-plated tiles all over the body. There is a fence around the pagoda. On the mountaintop, you can see a 360-degree view of Phichit.

Tor Charm Boat Noodle Phichit Branch
My first time trying this franchised boat noodle in Phichit Province, half way from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, near Honda Phichit. The menu on the wall is clear with English. The taste is very good, not too spicy and not too salty like other boat noodles I tried before. Open aired, clean and quite ok for a quick lunch break. 5 bowls for 2 of us cost 100 Baht and 3 pork ball sticks cost 30 Baht. Free self serviced basils and bean sprouts. Free self serviced cold water as in most Thai eateries.
