#travelinginchina Long time no outdoor activities, so I headed to Anning Longshan for some “oxygen therapy”. I navigated to the parking lot of the largest hotel in Anning Hot Springs. After parking, I followed the right - hand path in front of the building, found a main road with a postal bank on the right, then saw the sign for the hot spring village and reached a colorful trail. The whole route is about 4km, and it took 2 hours with picture - taking. There are three paths: the Rainbow Trail (I missed it), the Stone Trail (similar in length), and the longest one with stairs and wooden fences (watch out for mosquitoes). I wanted to bring my dog but gave up because of the stairs. Kids can manage the hike. We reached the BCC Aerobic Plan Cafe, didn't go to the mountaintop as it'd take another 1.5 hours. We took pictures and rested. Due to bad weather, we missed the sunset. As it got dark, we took a villager's car down, which took over ten minutes. Overall, it's a great place for a weekend stroll with friends and kids, away from crowded scenic spots. If you just want to go to the coffee shop, navigate to BCC Longshan Aerobic Drive. #travelinginchina Kunming is amazing! A random small hill offers great views. After a week at home, I went to Longshan in Anning's Wenquan Town. It's remote, a near - hour drive from where I live. We drove to the top. Saw hikers and cyclists on the steep, winding road. The observation deck was off - limits, so we went to Riyouyou Farm. Parking was free, but entry was 15 yuan per person, with a ticket for a small bread at the "Little White House". At about 2,500 - meter altitude, it was windy and a bit cold. The warm Little White House had great views through its floor - to - ceiling windows. Online, the farm looks great in spring, summer, and autumn with flowers. But in winter, it's a bit bare. There are still grand views of the sky and mountains. The farm has lots of animals. I was chased by geese but learned they're timid. It also has many vegetables, some I can't recognize. There's a camping area. Meals are available, like curry beef rice for 36 yuan. The sunset is said to be beautiful, but we left after over two hours, fearing the dark drive down. On the way down, we visited Longshan Village with old and new houses and farmhouses. Passed the Cliff Inscription Group and Tanglang River, which has an elegant feel. They are in full bloom, creating a lively scene, and there are not many people around. This is truly a hidden gem of a park. You can come here for a stroll throughout the four seasons of the year, and you'll always be able to discover different beautiful sceneries. The lake shimmers with ripples, the trees are dense, the flowers keep blooming, the birds flit about gracefully, and the place is clean and tidy, with few people and beautiful scenery. When you're tired from walking, how wonderful it would be to have a meal at the food street! I recommend "Guju Lakeside Music Dining Bar". It has a beautiful environment, offering both Western food and simple meals. The desserts are delicious, and the prices are not high. There is a charging parking lot by Ninghu Lake. Nicknamed the "Suzhou - style garden of Yunnan people" and "the First Garden in Yunnan", it was designed by Professor Chen Congzhou in the 1990s, blending Jiangnan garden charm with local features. Stepping in, I felt like I was in Suzhou. Rockeries, brooks, bridges, and corridors were all around. The garden's uniqueness lies in its Phoebe - made buildings and furniture, plus the numerous Phoebe trees. Unfortunately, I arrived late and it was closed. But I visited Yong'an Old Street and Donghu Park nearby. The old street was average, while Donghu Park was like Quanzhou's West Lake Park, with many egrets on the central islet. #travelinginchina Rare Yuan Dynasty architecture in Yunnan - Anning Confucian Temple Dacheng Hall 🔻 The Anning Confucian Temple was first built in the sixth year of the Dade reign of Emperor Chengzong of the Yuan Dynasty (1302), but was later destroyed in a military disaster. In the third year of the Yuan Dynasty (1337), it was rebuilt under the leadership of General Xuanwei and the head of the Zhongqing Road Daluhua Chidangdaolu. The Confucian Temple used to be a large-scale architectural complex, consisting of 22 buildings including Wenming Fang, Zhaobi, Panchi, Jinsheng Yuzhen Fang, Lingxing Gate, Dacheng Gate, Dacheng Hall, Chongsheng Temple, as well as seven courtyards and six courtyards including the East and West Courts, Hongmen, and Xiangxian Temple. Today, only Dacheng Hall and Chongsheng Temple remain. 🔻 The Dacheng Hall sits north to south and is a raised beam wooden structure with a width of 5 bays and a depth of 3 bays. It has front and rear corridors and a single eave with nine ridges and a gable top, with a ridge height of 10 meters. The eaves are trimmed with glazed tiles. The hall adopts the method of reducing and relocating columns to expand the space. Take care that there are two arch of wooden architecture in the outer eaves, one in the secondary eaves, and none in the middle eaves. The arch of wooden architecture on the front eaves is built by raising five pavilions from the top to the bottom, turning six pavilions from the inside to re arch for three seconds, and the arch of wooden architecture on the inner eaves is built by three jumps and six pavilions. Chinese paleontologist Liu Dunzhen believes in his "Overview of Southwest Ancient Architecture Survey" that the high and arch rolling and killing techniques, as well as the single arch construction on the central seam and jumping head of the Dacheng Hall of the Anning Confucian Temple, follow the legal system of the Song and Yuan dynasties. 🔻 Chongsheng Temple is located in the north of Dacheng Hall. It is a beam lifting wooden structure, with 5 rooms wide, 5 rooms deep with front corridors, and a single eave gable roof. 🔻 The Anning Confucian Temple is now used as a museum and preserves over 10 stone inscriptions from the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties; In front of the Dacheng Hall, there is also a pair of red sandstone stone lions, originally placed on both sides of the east gate of Yaocen Tower. It is a hexagonal pavilion with three layers of eaves situated by the clouds.
