Haydarpasha Palace Hotel

Turkler|0.38km from yunus emre butik
My family of 5 (2 adults and 3 boys aged 8, 5 and 1) stayed here for 10 nights at the end of October and had a fantastic first holiday abroad as a family. Hotel building/Room/general area - The building is beautiful! Inside reminded us of the atrium on a cruise ship. We stayed in a duplexe room which was perfect for us with 2 bathrooms and lots of space over the 2 floors and a large balcony. We had a few issues with the room (lost power and the plug got stuck in the sink) but these were resolved quickly when reported to reception. The room was made up daily, mini bars stocked up and was never dirty but the bathrooms would benefit from being updated. Outside of the hotel there is a bazaar within 5 minutes walk with some shops and bars but not much else. My husband and eldest visited Ruzgar to watch the football as it is not played in the hotel. Pools/Beach - The hotel was quiet at the time we stayed so we had our pick of sun loungers around the main pool. The kids pool was busier and the loungers more closely packed so we avoided sitting there and only moved some of our belongings there briefly when all of our children wanted to play in that area. The main pool was very cold but once you were in it was lovely as it was still in the high 20s-low 30s when we stayed. Our older kids loved the bouncy pillow and would watch all morning for it coming on. We all enjoyed the slides and would visit them later in the afternoon so never an issue getting a seat or having a long wait for a ring but I can see this being a problem when the hotel is busier. Only points for the hotel to consider is the general maintenance/cleanliness around the pool: some of the parasol bases are broken, some of the parasols themselves are tired looking, we didn’t like the cigarette holders on the parasols (but appreciate that a lot of guests do still smoke and, as Brits, we just aren’t used to it as much now), hedged areas around the pool and along the edge of the restaurant have cigarette ends and some rubbish strewn through them (not lots but enough to notice) but I do feel that the design of these borders and laziness of some smoking guests and those who don’t pick up things they drop makes it difficult for the cleaners who are constantly sweeping up. The border area between the pool and restaurant would benefit from some routine attention to tidy it up too. These small matters did in no way impact our stay, they were just things we picked up on that we felt downgraded this hotel from a 5*. Our youngest child preferred the beach and so we spent most afternoons there. The sea was lovely and warm and doesn’t get deep too quickly. Lots of sun loungers and shade available. Restaurants/Bars - the food choice is vast and the main restaurant is enormous! We always sat outside the main restaurant for breakfast and our evening meal and were extremely well looked after by Esat, Selami, Talha, Mehmet and Huseyin who quickly learned where we liked to sit, our drinks and would get us

Well where should I start … again another nice holiday here. The reviews I’ve read this year did shock me but here’s mine …… Got to the hotel at 1:30 -2:30 (about then ish) Turkish time got to the hotel and was greeted nice. Got in the hotel room there were a couple of issues … mirror broke and sliding doors (screen in the door) broke and air-con broke … guess what I rang reception and we got someone who then checked our room and fixed the air-con but then saw the other issues and changed our room to the next one along and even though there was no sofa we had on delivered to the room in a few days. The staff worked hard and was always polite if you were polite to them. Had our room cleaned 90% of the 2 weeks we were there. Meal times ….. the food WAS NOT English food so don’t expect it, you can get rice ,chicken , chips, pasta every meal for those who don’t like Turkish food. Breakfast was edible too. Eggs ,pancakes , cereal, cheeses, breads, toastie machine, yogurt, honey, jam , chocolate spread. Yes the meals did repeat maybe twice but the food was edible and we enjoyed them. Again if you don’t like Turkish food you will moan. The season was coming to the end but we still had a great time. We did come in to contact with the Turkish herbal life convention (yes they stayed at the hotel) some of them were rude and pushed in which is very annoying as us English like a line , or orderly queue. I did have to point out to one of the herbal life guest that her friend who just pushed in can not take all the cheese for the toastie machine as there were others in the queue before and after me ,wanting to eat a toastie. We heard a few English people moan about how they were going to leave a bad review for not being able to take food from the restaurant out of the restaurant…. But they were the rules and people can see them so be expected to be refused to take it out. Had a Turkish bath and massage which was absolutely amazing and worth the money for 90mins worth of treatment. Trips from hotel were expensive ao we caught the dolmish to alanya (30 lira ) and got 2 trips for the price of one that the hotel was offering so we got picked up from the hotel. The restaurant Picasso…. Had a rep come around and ask if we would like a meal and they would pick us up and take us to the restaurant where we could eat (prices really good for the really nicely cooked food) and then shopping then took back to the hotel what ever time would suit us ( on the hour) . We came here 4 years ago and a few things had changed like the outdoor canopy around the pool which was great and another water slide park added for the little kids. Snack bars … by the pool you could have chips , burgers ( not English tasting ) pizza by the table tennis side of the bar and other bits to nibble on . Again it’s a snack bar not a restaurant so don’t expect what you would in England. All I do say is if your polite with the staff they are with you and if you have a problem be nice about it, they

Ok, so after reading reviews before our holiday, I was really unsure if to change hotels or not. So here is an honest review in case anyone is feeling the same (you might want to grab yourself a cuppa!!) We arrived late at night, the Receptionist didn't really know what she was doing and forgot to give us all wrist bands (we had to go back the next day!). We had 2 family rooms next to each other. We got to the rooms and one of our key cards wasn't working. We called down to Reception and they said we had to come back down. I asked if they could please send someone up as we had 2 young kids with us and also my Dad who doesn't find walking far too easy and we'd been travelling all day. They refused, so I went down and finally sorted a key! We then went to the restaurant as the kids were starving to be told it was closed. We explained that we'd just arrived but he shrugged and said, oh well we're shut! No apology or understanding. Luckily another hotel guest overheard and told us if we waiting until 11pm we could go to the late night soup. Thankfully she overheard us or we'd never have known and would have had to wait until the morning. We'd not eaten since before lunch and we were all very hungry. We'd arrived late to hotels many times before and had always been fed!!! Not a great start! Finally made it back to the rooms to unpack. The rooms were lovely to be fair. Very spacious, great wardrobe space, nice balcony, very clean and a lovely bathroom. Great shower too, very powerful. The mini bar was only ever stocked with water though. Most hotels previously we've stayed at have also been stocked with soft drinks. But it was fine. We were excited for the next day to see what activities were on etc. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was because they did Aqua aerobics. This is one of the very few sports my 81 year old Dad can enjoy without being in any pain, so he was really looking forward to this. Well, there were no animation team to be found! Usually they are buzzing around by the pool trying to get everyone involved in the activities. No chance! Kaan (or CAN'T) as I like to call him wouldn't do aqua because there was only 1 person (my dad!). Every hotel we've stayed at before has still done it if it be for 1, or 10 people. My Dad was very disappointed. The second time we tracked Kaan down, he didn't want to do it cos he had toothache!! Honestly! My Dad managed 1 day of Aqua as there were 3 people taking part. But I'm sure if Kaan had made more effort to go round and get people involved, they would have loved it. The ”private beach”, was not a private beach at all. You walk across a bridge from the hotel, but there is access from the pavement both sides of the bridge! There is security up there but most of the time they were sat on their phones, or talking to each other. The slides and pools were amazing!! Such a great choice for the kids. They spent all their time on the pool with the slides and they had so much fun. Althoug

White City Resort Hotel - Ultra All Inclusive
4.5/544 Reviews
I visited White City Resort with my family early May 2024. The welcome from the night receptionist wasn’t great, no welcome drink was offered, the hotel amenities weren’t explained to us and we weren’t given any all inclusive bands ( the next day we noticed other guests had bands). First impressions of the hotel was that it was clean and modern. Drinks- A mix of local and some branded drinks ( Gordon’s gin, Smirnoff vodka. Carlsberg on draft, Bailey’s) were included . A large number of the cocktails at the bars were also free. There is also a cocktail cabin near to the garden that sells premium cocktails for between 10 and 20 euros. I am unsure what the alcohol content of the all inclusive drinks was but I could drink all day and not feel like I’d had a drink and I’m usually a lightweight. The iced coffees and lattes at the bars were lovely. The beach bar which is located by the snack bar offers limited drinks , lager, hot drinks from a machine and soft drinks. ( no cocktails or spirits). There is also a Starbucks which is open 3 hours a day and is included on All Inclusive . As well as this there is a coffee shop where you can help yourself to hot drinks , biscuits and fruit. Ice cream is also served in this area for a few hours a day. The Patisserie is located at the lobby bar , there is a good selection of cakes, macarons . Animation staff worked hard and chatted to everyone. I am not really one for hotel entertainment so it was good that they were friendly but not overbearing. Reception staff were ok but I didn’t find them particularly friendly. When we checked out they didn’t ask us if we had enjoyed our stay Bar staff were all really friendly , worked tirelessly and are an asset to the hotel. Restaurant staff were friendly and served drinks to your table on an evening. At lunchtime they only served drinks if you tipped them. The chefs were also friendly even when I did raise issues with them on a number of occasions. There were a number of managers who walked around the hotel , they spoke to their staff absolutely terribly, if they behave like this in front of the guests I wonder how they treat them when we are not about. I have never been to a hotel and witnessed such terrible behaviour from managers towards their staff , they also never interacted with guests. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and there were plenty of sunbeds which were around the main pool, infinity pool, decked area by the sea, pier and beach. A large number of the sunbeds were also in the sun all day ( parasols were also available ) Food- I have left the worst until last. The hotel has a main buffer restaurant, a snack restaurant by the beach and Al a carte restaurants ( only one was open when we visited) Unfortunately this is the main issue with this hotel. The quality of the food was generally really good but the majority of the time it was cold. We honestly tried so hard to resolve this issue with the chefs who were really friendly an
Alaiye Resort & Spa Hotel - Ultra All Inclusive
4.6/541 Reviews
Well, well, well. If I had listened to all the negative reviews from my British counterparts, I wouldn't have experienced such a fantastic, clean and well run hotel. We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Alaiye Hotel & Spa Resort and I can honestly say its probably one of the best hotels I have stayed in. I cannot fault the staff for how well they look after the grounds, from the gardeners and maids down to the guest relations and bell boys. All staff were helpful even when they didn't speak English, we managed to get our point across. The on site shop was a lifesaver for little essentials such as gifts, drinks and snacks, they also have shops for clothing at extremely competitive prices. I didn't see any reviews about water being freely available around the hotel in fridges but their is an abundance of fridges around the hotel providing bottled water and also little plastic containers full of water. All Inclusive drinks had a large selection ranging from soft drinks to the Turkish beer Efes and also extremely tasty cocktails (Sense of Alaiye is my pick) and red/white wine. The all inclusive food is some what repetitive but so are the majority of all inclusive foods around the world, by the 2nd week I couldn't find anything new but I can assure you, we as a family never went hungry and always had something to eat at Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The snack bars were more or less the same daily with your nuggets, chips, donnor meat and selection of Russian cuisine and the snack bar at the back of the hotel served freshly made pizza and flat breads daily. The pool is extremely easy to find a bed all throughout the day so no need to get up early to put your towel down, it's a great pool because he's not full of chlorine as it has a mixture of salt water and feels natural. The beach is unbelievable, you need to get there early to secure your bed, you'll be hounded all day to sign up for excursions and you must try the Big Kral pirate boat, it was a great experience. Some negative points though, the entertainment starts way too late for a family, 9.30 every night and the music is UNBEARABLY LOUD but didn't bother me or my wife that much as the children were already asleep by the time it started at 10pm. I will reiterate, it will be EXTREMELY LOUD so bare this in mind when booking as no matter what room you're in, you will hear it clearly. The entertainment throughout the day is unchanged, the music also around the pool is repetitive and the same playlist is played regularly, I did inform the entertainment team and they gladly took suggestions but only lasted for that day and followed the next with the same playlist. I also want to add, I slipped really bad on the steps leading into the pool on the south side of the hotel next to the Vitamin bar, I really hurt my back and couldn't move my neck for days (which put a negative on my 2 weeks) I complained about the step to Guest Relations and was offered a free hour session of massage to t

Disappointed! It is our last night of the 10 nights stay. The biggest challenge was the language barrier. Maximum 3 members of staff speaking English. But everybody speaking Russian. Lots of rude Russian tourists, jumping all the queues, but all the staff treating them better. This evening we decided not to have dinner as my daughter has been suffering with sickness and diarrhoea for 2 days and we didn't want to leave her alone for too long. We decided to take 2 drinks from the restaurant and have them outside. We were told we weren't allowed to take the glasses with us. Do you think the lady at the door understood a word of what I told her? I highly doubt it. Both me and my husband slipped and fell by the pool. I hurt my hip and it still hurts after 5 days of anti inflammatories and 5 medical massages. My husband hurt one toe and the hotel nurse used an app to understand we were just asking her if it was broken. The only good things were the baklava s, massages, the weather and the pools. These immense language barrier and even rudeness of the staff (because they couldn't understand a word and they were talking to us in Russian) left me disappointed. Especially Isa- one of the members of staff from the pizza counter- his arrogance and rudeness are above any limit, being always unhappy I was asking for food for 3 persons (as we are a family of 3), but really helpful with other tourists in front of us. We did try not to let anything ruining our holiday. Until now....
