Best hotel I’ve stayed in on my trip. The family made me feel so welcome. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Lots of hot water. Food was great. They gave me a bike to cycle to the grasslands and did my washing for free! Also dropped me at the bus station. So kind and lovely. And the owner speaks perfect English.

Charming, beautiful, peaceful, clean stay at Nirvana. Location is right beside Labrang Monastery and also on a quiet road by the river / foot of mountain. Owner really goes above and beyond to welcome and take care of you and helps with navigating the town. Lovely western coffee, meals and drinks! Safe and secure for solo female travellers. I stayed in the hostel which was spacious and showers/bathrooms are impeccably clean. Fast and consistent wifi. Everything you need for a great stay in Xiahe.

Wonderful place and wonderful family! The best accommodation we stayed in in China. Perfect position very close to the monastery. Very clean.
As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a snack of dried dates, bread, butter and tzampa, accompanied by some delicious tea.
We stayed with this family for two days and they always offered us breakfast, the first day with house tea and fresh bread, the second day with coffee and fried bread.
We spent the evening with them and they always kept offering us food and tea, always making us feel welcome.
The house is wonderful, ******* style, wooden, always very clean.
The beds are really comfortable, and they have a warming blanket. Inside our room we also had an electric heater to warm ourselves, which made the room really warm and cosy.
The bathroom has hot water.
You can fill your water bottles from the drinking water containers they have in front of each room.
We always saw them cleaning the common areas.
The owner, his wife and their three children welcomed us warmly like family.
I will recommend them to all my friends.

It was originally where the residents lived. The four rooms were made into guest rooms, which are very *******. The shared bathroom is a small problem. The proprietress is very nice. The homestay is in the alley. The proprietress picked me up and arranged a parking space. In the morning, I asked for breakfast made by the proprietress herself. It tasted good. It is 10 minutes away from Labrang Monastery

The location is very good and close to Labrang Monastery. The downside is that it is too noisy at night because there are many cars coming in and out of the parking lot downstairs at night. The cars coming in will report the license plate number, and the cars going out will honk the horn frantically to ask the on-duty driver to open the door. In addition, the room heater is too hot and the temperature cannot be controlled. But this is a minor problem compared to the noise.

The environment and hygiene are very good, with all kinds of small accessories for washing and dressing, and the air is filled with the rich fragrance of lilies. The house layout is very local, and there are few people in the off-season, so the boss lady is very nice to upgrade the room! The house feels quite warm in the weather of minus ten degrees, but the shower is still quite cold. The water is relatively small, and the bathroom is an open space, so it is difficult to gather heat. I gave up decisively after taking a shower. I will come back when the weather is warmer in the future~

Although she didn't speak Mandarin well, she would explain everything clearly as long as I asked. The nights in Gannan are very cold, and you must cover yourself with a blanket to sleep. It's a pity that my stay was too short, otherwise it would be beautiful if I stayed for a few days.

Our stay here was lovely, with kind staff. We are Australian and our check-in was easy. However, please note that the name of the hotel name is “Samphel Dhondup Hotel”, and it is located near the southern corner of 腾志路, Tengzhi Road, near the Monastery Ticket Centre and the river. This was confusing upon arrival.
The heated floors were extremely hot, and not able to be turned off. Our room was a sauna, despite being -4°c outside (we had our window open the whole time). Hopefully this can be fixed. Breakfast was small but we were here during the offseason.

GGuest UserIt is in the alley next to the White Pagoda, very close to Labrang Monastery. We booked this oldest restaurant, with a simple ******* style and a relatively small space, especially the bathroom. It was still cold at night in August with the air conditioner turned on. Although the hardware is a bit inferior, the service is better. The housekeeper boy and girl are very enthusiastic. They went to the parking lot of the tourist service center to pick us up and help with the luggage. There is also a free yak hot pot. Adults and children are very satisfied. The two cats in the yard are also very cute.

GGuest UserHighly recommended. The boss was friendly and enthusiastic. He picked us up in his car and helped us carry our bags. The B&B is decorated in a literary style and the mattresses are relatively comfortable. Their Labrador is very well-behaved and their children especially like dogs.

I saw some residents snacking directly on the grass outside the cabin. Originally wanted to try his family's ******* food, but was persuaded by the owner. I had a taste of his pan-fried noodles and forgot what. I squeezed the noodles into the sausage casing and then fried them. The taste is really strong, and many people may not be used to it. 🍽Dining experience: The hotel’s restaurant is simply a food paradise. The breakfast is rich in variety and tastes great. Every bite can awaken my taste buds. The dinner specials were equally delicious, with fresh ingredients and exquisite presentation. I felt like my stomach was healed.

It's more convenient and the staff is friendly. The room is very big and the sanitary conditions are OK. Overall it's great. I will stay here again next time I come to Xiahe.

NNikoas4The hotel is extremely close to the monastery. Some people at the reception speak english and they can book you a private tour to visit the grasslands and the monasteries outside the city that otherwise would be unreacheables for 400rmb per vehicle. The room is big and the beds are warm.
