Xiahe Hotels with Breakfast

"The best aspect of this stay was by far the owner. He was incredibly, incredibly helpful and friendly — from the moment I walked in the door he offered me a cup of tea, then provided tea and bread the next morning for breakfast, offered advice on what to see in the area, arranged a car to take me to Dalzong Lake, and finally even found me a spot on a local minibus going to my next destination. I couldn’t have done half the things I did during my stay in Xiahe without his advice and efforts on my behalf, so that alone made staying here fully worthwhile! It’s worth mentioning that the guesthouse’s architecture is also absolutely beautiful, and everything looks quite new. It’s located down a quiet side alley off of one of the main commercial streets in town, which seems like the ideal placement. On the accommodations: I stayed in one of the two tents erected on the second floor of the guesthouse. This was largely quite a good experience! The bed was very comfortable (with a heated pad), water and towels provided, etc. The tents are not in a closed-off area, but rather on the second floor/balcony area that also is used for sitting, serving tea, etc., so privacy is somewhat limited, but the whole guesthouse is relatively quiet anyway so it doesn’t feel like a public space. My only suggestions for improvement would be related to the bathroom: during my stay, the shared bathroom for the tents was a sort of temporary-style booth installed in the corner of the room with a toilet, sink, and showerhead. The bathroom was very clean and everything inside worked well, but its sliding door separated from the wall enough that there was always a substantial enough space on one side or the other that could be seen through (the door also didn’t lock and slid back and forth easily). The booth was also small enough that, realistically, I think it would be a bit of a challenge to actually use it to shower. If possible it might be worth looking into some simple fixes to improve these situations, but otherwise I have no complaints!"

"The hotel's location is excellent, less than a five-minute walk from Labrang Monastery. The rooms are clean and hygienic, and the hotel provides attentive service. The owner and staff are warm and friendly, always willing to go out of their way to help guests. The hotel also has a campsite on the Sangke Grassland, which offers a beautiful and tranquil environment, away from other tourists – definitely worth experiencing. I will certainly choose to stay here again next time I visit Xiahe!"

"Really loved the Tibetan-style design. We were on a road trip, and the hotel guaranteed parking, which was great. They offer free breakfast, but we missed it because we had to hit the road early. The ******* guy at the front desk was super enthusiastic and helpful. We visited in late June, and it wasn't cold at all for sleeping."

"Probably the largest hotel in Xiahe. It's a short walk to Labrang Monastery. There's no air conditioning, which might be because it doesn't get hot here in the summer. They said they had floor heating, but it wasn't turn-on yet when we checked in, and it got a bit chilly after the rain. The hotel has a restaurant, and you can order dinner, though I found it a bit pricey – I guess that's common for tourist spots. Breakfast was decent, and the cleanliness was acceptable. Overall, I didn't feel like there were any major downsides."

"Extremely charming Tibetan-style hotel. It was decorated very beautifully, with lovely wooden furniture and rugs, and corridors full of plants. We got the cheapest room, with a shared bathroom, but even this room was very spacious, and the shared bathroom was nearby. It was warm in the room, with the option to open the window to cool it down. The staff were very accommodating, and helped us book a taxi and answered our questions via Google translate. The hotel has a delicious restaurant, where we ate both breakfast and dinner, including lots of ******* food prepared freshly. The location is perfect for visiting Labrang monastery - they do English tours there even in March."

"This is great hotel and with a few minor improvements it could be an outstanding hotel. It's location couldn't be better as it is directly across the street from the entrance to the Longram Monastery and very near the main street. The hotel has an interesting ******* character and has its own good restaurant. We were assigned a very large and comfortable room. The staff were at all times friendly and welcoming. My minor complaints were the absence of any English speakers (admittedly an issue at almost all the hotels we have stayed at in China), the bathroom towels were a bit raged, and the internet connection was weak."

"This Tibetan-style B&B is very close to Langmusi Town. The owner is a *******, very simple and warm. He will go to the mountains to pick small flowers with a special fragrance, dry them and then use them for aromatherapy every morning. The large French window in front of the tea table faces the mountain view. It is so nice to drink tea and chat here!"

"This stay experience directly exceeded expectations, must be five-star praise! The location of the homestay is excellent, within walking distance to business districts and attractions, and it is very convenient to travel and eat. The whole house was cleaned spotlessly, the bathroom was separated from wet and dry without smell, and the toiletries were all available. The landlord is gentle and caring, and there is a problem in seconds. The overall quiet and not noisy, the price is far more than the surrounding hotels, has been recommended to friends, come back to the local must stay!"

"The room was large and new. I went to the National Day. The room was very cold as soon as I entered the door. The boss opened the electric blanket and provided electric heating. After we came back from the outside after dinner, the temperature of the room was very comfortable. If you need breakfast, you need to book with the boss in advance. The boss will do it according to the reservation the next day, but it is an extra charge. The taste is very good. Even the children eat an extra roll. Toiletries, towels and bath towels are all disposable utensils. That is, the yard needs to be cleaned up again, or they can't help their floor-to-ceiling windows 😂"
