Hakone Yutowa ★★★★
"The room was spotless, and the mini-bar and breakfast service were perfectly in line with the price. The staff's attitude was absolutely perfect. The hot springs were fantastic and really helped me relax~"
Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu ★★★★★
"The rooms blend modern Japanese comfort with thoughtful amenities. A standout perk: some rooms come with a massage chair, perfect for unwinding after a day exploring Hakone. The private open-air onsen in every room is a true luxury natural hot spring water on your own balcony, available anytime. The experience is relaxing, intimate, and effortless. Views are generally stunning, framing Hakone’s mountains and treelines. However, be aware: some rooms face the hotel’s large parking lot, where constant car noise and movement can ruin the scenery. Staff service is attentive, friendly, and pleasant."
Tenseien ★★★★
"An average onsen hotel. Breakfast and dinner are both buffets. The hot springs are on the rooftop, but the view isn't great. The hotel requires a bus shuttle to Hakone-Yumoto Station, which costs 200 JPY per person."
Setsugetsuka ★★★★
"Highly highly recommended Location: Super near Gora station very convenient to travel everywhere. There is even direct bus to and fro Gotemba premium outlet, Hakone-Yumoto and Odawara was convenient as well. Ryokan: Check in was great, front desk communicates and explains everything in English clearly. Was able to reserve my 2 night’s dinner upon checking in too. There were free snacks, lounge area with coffee/drinks/ice cream, you can choose your yukata for both male/female, daily nighttime free delicious ramen. Room: Excellent, bed was comfortable and there is an outdoor tub as well. Take note the tub will be filled with hot water instead of hot spring water. There was pyjamas as well. Onsen: There are 3 different outdoor private tubs which will light up when in used (first come first serve basis). We managed to try all 3 and our favourite was the wooden tub, followed by stone tub and lastly the one with 2 tubs (so each person to soak in 1). Queue can be quite long sometimes as this private onsen is popular among couples. To be considerate it is best to use it as quick as possible. Then there is the public onsen with both indoor and outdoor, hot, cold dips and sauna. Hot dips can reach up to 40-42 degrees. There is another human made hot water carbonation onsen which has lesser people since it is not hot spring water. I thoroughly enjoyed all the onsens. Meals: Highly recommend to opt the breakfast and dinner options. Restaurants close very early around 5pm so there are not a lot of dinner options outside the ryokan. Meals were excellent and Japanese Kaiseki style. Very delicious and there was so much food in the course meal. Overall 10/10 experience and I would choose this ryokan on my next trip."
Hakone Yumoto Onsen Hakoneji Kaiun ★★★
"The food and the ambiance are both excellent! 😊"
Yoshiike Ryokan ★★★★
"The environment is quite nice, and the Japanese-style rooms are good too. The garden is very spacious, and there's a hot spring. The transportation right outside is also very convenient, with direct routes to tourist attractions."
Tenseien Odawara Station Annex ★★★★
"The hotel is incredibly convenient, located directly within the Odawara Station complex, although it can be a little tricky to find for first-timers. From Odawara Station's East Exit (stay within the station building), take a short escalator down. You'll spot the Lusca mall on your right. Upon entering, Marugame Udon is on your left, and Seijo Ishii supermarket is directly opposite. Walk past Marugame, turn left to exit the mall, then turn right onto a glass-enclosed walkway outside. Continue straight, passing a parking lot on your right. Keep going until you see the hotel's directional sign (like the one in the last photo). Take the escalator up to the 4th floor, where you'll find the hotel lobby. We stayed in a Double B room, which was relatively spacious and well-suited for a family of three. This particular room type, which we only saw listed on Ctrip, was excellent. The bathroom featured a wet/dry separation but no bathtub. However, the public bath on the 10th floor was very comfortable (remember to bring your own towel!). There's also a foot bath on the 14th floor offering scenic views. If daily cleaning is desired, simply place the 'clean my room' sign outside your door, and fresh towels and yukata will be provided. Even if you forget the sign, they thoughtfully leave fresh yukata and towels at your door – a really nice touch. I appreciated this considerate service that respected our privacy. The bedding was comfortable, and individually packaged facial cleanser, makeup remover, and body lotion were replenished daily. Odawara is a wonderful city, and this hotel's location makes it extremely convenient for visiting Hakone, Atami, and Kamakura. I would love to visit again and would definitely choose this hotel for my next stay. The only minor downsides were the slight train noise (though I still slept very well during my three-night stay) and the slightly stiff toothbrush provided."
KOBAKONi ★★★
Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori ★★★★
"The environment here is lovely – very clean and comfortable, and the buffet was excellent too. We booked a room with an open-air bath, and the view of the forest, with all that lush greenery, was just perfect. I'd definitely come back again."
