The hotel is in a perfect location, near the center of Funchal. Rooms are modern, extremely clean and the staff is literally the reason this hotel is so amazing. We had an amazing experience and can totally guarantee it is absolutely worth it. The breakfast is not provided via a buffet, you get a menu, but you are free to order as many things as you wish, no limit. It is a hotel for people that wishes to go around and discover Madeira. If you prefer places to relax, this is not the right place as there is no pool.

Very good location, various full breakfasts, staff available. The weak point is that there are only six places where you can park, but often you already have it. The possibility to park in the casino's parking lot is up to € 6.30 throughout the day. Another weak point of the soundproofing of the room is the sound of TV, doors in the adjacent room. Sufficient hotel, pleasant pool, jacuzzi hammam and small gym for 3/4 day!

Alugamos 2 quartos neste hotel por 4 dias. Um bom hotel, mas longe de ser um 4 estrelas. Decoração dos quartos antiga e bem simples, sem charme algum, tipo 2,5 a 3 estrelas no máximo. Mas as camas eram confortáveis. A garagem disponível é bem pequena e se chegar tarde corre o risco de ter que procurar estacionamento na rua. O que se incomodo após um dia de passeios. Café da manhã simples, bom.

We were here for 14 days. Simple clean rooms with private bathrooms. The device shows signs of use, but nothing that would bother. A rental car can be parked for a fee, and there are paid parking zones all around. The car park is small, not suitable for larger cars. Very nice and helpful staff at the reception. Breakfast buffet, rich selection, just the same every day. However, you can gradually put together a different breakfast for each day. Large selection of local fruit. Rooftop heated and clean pool and jacuzzi. Sauna for a fee. The downside is the location of the hotel on a one way street uphill, very noisy during the day with the window open. The windows insulate well. Rooms also have air conditioning.

Fabulous hotel with views to die for! We stayed in the newly renovated rooms and they were just stunning and again had amazing views. The hotel was super clean, the pool area was lovely. It is out of the centre so you do need to taxi which costs €10-15 or get the bus ( which didn't turn up when we tried so we found taxi better) we didn't mind being out of the centre because the hotel was worth it! The staff were great and the restaurant was beautiful with great food. The only thing I can fault the hotel on is that the water in our room was not replenished. Otherwise it was perfect. I would absolutely stay here again!

Stuffy room at the back of the hotel. Noise from street traffic and air conditioning in the shopping center is disturbing. Poolside rooms are better. Poor ventilation in bathroom. Buffet breakfast is ok. Parking in the adjacent public car park is good. However, this is not described anywhere and requires some searching for new guests.

Hotel well located, about 30 minutes from Funchal airport. The positive points of the hotel are, as I already mentioned, the location; the hotel staff are very friendly both in the dining area and in the bar area by the pool. The animators are extremely professional. The receptionists are always ready to help and are incredibly friendly. The hotel's negative points: Very repetitive food and little variety for a 5-star hotel. In the pool area, the chairs should already be replaced, as some of them are in poor condition.

Our experience of the hotel was enhanced by our meal in the restaurant, which I have reviewed separately. My favourite thing about the room was the enclosed balcony. It was like having a private yoga studio in the sky. (Fellow yogis note, the floor was slippery.) I also enjoyed the spectacular view from the Sauna, which at the time was free because it was not working optimally. (So do ask!) It was good enough for me, but it took over an hour to heat up. The Pool looked too small and shallow to actually swim in, but mostly it was unusable as it was colder than the sea. I don’t know if this was usual. Breakfast was fairly similar to ones we had at other Madeira hotels, but this place had the tastiest selection of fresh bread rolls and very good garlicky mushrooms. The room was clean. We liked the 3-section recycling bin in the room. Others mentioned lack of plugs for phones. Erm... we knew about that but were surprised to find that there were not enough plugs for the room items. The Kettle and TV had to share a wall outlet. They really should consider supplying an extension lead, which could be given out and collected at check-in, just as they (bizarrely) do with the TV remote control. We did start off on a rather bad note. At check in, we were downright ignored. One receptionist was settling a dispute with another guest, but both members of staff deliberately avoided any sort of eye contact with us. I don't normally notice this sort of thing, but it was rude and infuriating and lasted some time. A simple nod would have sufficed. I’ll put this down to a bad day for the first member of staff, who later was helpful. After a long wait for no discernible reason, the other receptionist demanded payment before we had even seen the room, for which we had paid in advance. We've stayed at many places who use multiple booking sites. Sometimes you pay on arrival, sometimes beforehand, and we understand that the hotel needs to know. However, there are ways of asking that don't come across as offensive and like one is trying to get away with something. Not everyone is out to steal the remote control. Make sure you bring proof of payment if you’ve paid in advance, as we had. The hotel is lucky that they have out of this world views.

Excelent choice for our stay in Madeira. The hotel is located in a natural botanical garden - some will count this as a minus, but I disagree. On our arrival, at 2AM - Bolt cost was 25USD (31kms). Excelent service, very clean, lots of activities and friendly staff. Totally recommended.

A well organised hotel in rural Madiera, on the sea shore. It would have helped if we knew just how rural beforehand as the 25euro and 20 min taxi from Funchal turned into 35-40euro and half an hour in practice or an hour on the express bus if you could find it. This hotel definately needs a courtesy bus as almost everything is based in Funchal. The hotel has local trips but they turn out to start in Funchal as well so lots of messing about for an hour or more to get there at start and again to get back. The meals and staff help were excellent, there is a small indoor pool and as with most of Madiera a pebble beach. Means to make tea in the room would have made this an ideal residence. There are two local levadas if its walking you want but take a taxi to the start point if your doing the long one, or you may run out of legs and light! Well worth the effort.
