We were here for 14 days. Simple clean rooms with private bathrooms. The device shows signs of use, but nothing that would bother. A rental car can be parked for a fee, and there are paid parking zones all around. The car park is small, not suitable for larger cars. Very nice and helpful staff at the reception. Breakfast buffet, rich selection, just the same every day. However, you can gradually put together a different breakfast for each day. Large selection of local fruit. Rooftop heated and clean pool and jacuzzi. Sauna for a fee. The downside is the location of the hotel on a one way street uphill, very noisy during the day with the window open. The windows insulate well. Rooms also have air conditioning.

The hotel is located in a good area. Close to restaurants, beaches or boardwalk. Breakfast is decent, and the room was clean. A bit old mattress, and the furniture as well.
Considering the paid price, I would say the hotel delivers the right services.

Very nice and conveniently located 4* hotel. Offers peace and quiet, lovely breakfast with multiple international options. It has a swimming pool which I have not used due to colder temperatures in December (20C degrees). The Aerobus stop is next to the hotel (the airport bus for €5 single trip) and the return trip bus stop #15 is on the opposite side of the road. Also the Red open top Funchal Sightseeing Bus has its stop at the same places. The room service at the hotel is regular and effective. The Reception team is very helpful and fluent in foreign languages. The hotel provides guests with a kettle and a few instant coffee sachets and Tetley teabags. Tetley tea is a big brand in Madeira- it is served at almost every restaurant and bar. Unfortunately, bottled mineral water is not provided on a daily basis. We got just one 1.5 l bottle on the day one of our 6 days stay and that was it. The interior design style of the hotel is modern- very pleasant and comfortable. We had a side view on the sea from the hotel window which was beautiful especially during the sunset. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were on the soft side, a bit too soft for me. We had extra pillows and extra duvet available in the room as well as a good quality hairdryer. The bathroom had a transparent glass door as well as the shower cabin. The TV had all the international cable TV, which was very helpful to keep in touch with the daily news. I would definitely stay at Villa Baleira again.

Stuffy room at the back of the hotel. Noise from street traffic and air conditioning in the shopping center is disturbing. Poolside rooms are better. Poor ventilation in bathroom. Buffet breakfast is ok. Parking in the adjacent public car park is good. However, this is not described anywhere and requires some searching for new guests.

Hotel well located, about 30 minutes from Funchal airport. The positive points of the hotel are, as I already mentioned, the location; the hotel staff are very friendly both in the dining area and in the bar area by the pool. The animators are extremely professional. The receptionists are always ready to help and are incredibly friendly. The hotel's negative points: Very repetitive food and little variety for a 5-star hotel. In the pool area, the chairs should already be replaced, as some of them are in poor condition.

Fabulous hotel with views to die for! We stayed in the newly renovated rooms and they were just stunning and again had amazing views. The hotel was super clean, the pool area was lovely. It is out of the centre so you do need to taxi which costs €10-15 or get the bus ( which didn't turn up when we tried so we found taxi better) we didn't mind being out of the centre because the hotel was worth it! The staff were great and the restaurant was beautiful with great food. The only thing I can fault the hotel on is that the water in our room was not replenished. Otherwise it was perfect. I would absolutely stay here again!

Excelent choice for our stay in Madeira. The hotel is located in a natural botanical garden - some will count this as a minus, but I disagree. On our arrival, at 2AM - Bolt cost was 25USD (31kms).

A well organised hotel in rural Madiera, on the sea shore. It would have helped if we knew just how rural beforehand as the 25euro and 20 min taxi from Funchal turned into 35-40euro and half an hour in practice or an hour on the express bus if you could find it. This hotel definately needs a courtesy bus as almost everything is based in Funchal. The hotel has local trips but they turn out to start in Funchal as well so lots of messing about for an hour or more to get there at start and again to get back. The meals and staff help were excellent, there is a small indoor pool and as with most of Madiera a pebble beach. Means to make tea in the room would have made this an ideal residence. There are two local levadas if its walking you want but take a taxi to the start point if your doing the long one, or you may run out of legs and light! Well worth the effort.

BBb.88Overall great stay and we'll likely be back next time we visit Madeira.
Great location close to lots of restaurants and bars, and bus stops. It's not too far to walk to the city center and there's lots to see on the way there, too.
The rooms were clean, shampoo etc. was provided and there were even extra blankets which we were very grateful for as it can be chilly at night.
What we did not enjoy that much was the breakfast, as both restaurants serve about the same food and it was the same every morning. The taste was ok but we probably won't add breakfast the next time we stay, or not for all days.
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, however, the hotel appeared to be understaffed, meaning we'd have to wait quite a bit to receive service, e.g., at the reception, and staff seemed stressed at times.

EElia KazakovExcellent big hotel. Many German pensioners. Very good location - on the ocean shore, next to a large shopping center Forum and beach Formoz. By 1 or 2 bus the road to the center of Funshala takes 12 minutes.
Breakfasts are very diverse, but queues for coffee after 8 a.m.. They go on the floor with a stunning view of the ocean, you can sit on the street.
I didn't like the pools - with a beautiful view, but the water is narrow, everywhere on the belt. Only for children. The air conditioner works only for cooling - the room was cold.

GGuest UserWhat a fantastic experience This hotel was perfect The wait staff were friendly, engaging and entertaining The front desk staff were above and beyond with assistance, from booking excursions, restaurants or taxis - they were wonderful The rooms were gorgeous We booked a one bedroom suite, which had an enormous wrapped balcony overlooking the ocean - the only complaint was the bed is quite firm, but many people like this. A small kitchen for drinks etc The spa and massages were 5* without exaggeration This has become one of our favourite hotels We will definitely be back We will definitely be back

GGuest UserHad a lovely relaxing break at this well appointed hotel with stunning views of the ocean. On the whole there are many positives about this hotel. The well appointed rooms with good sized balconies overlooking the pool and ocean. The outside pool area and grounds are beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. Staff are very helpful, friendly and attentive. Whilst the hotel is 40 mins walk into the centre of Funchal, the local bus is really cheap and the stop is outside the hotel. There are also plenty of shops / bars / restaurants within a 5 - 10 min walk from hotel and a lovely promenade walkway to stroll along. Whilst overall this hotel is very good, there are some areas for improvement. Sadly some of these have been pointed out on previous reviews. So I do hope they are addressed as I would love to come back and give an excellent rating! My suggested improvements are #1 The hot buffet breakfast items were rather cold as the hot plates just weren’t keeping them warm enough. #2 It would be nice to have different fruit juices. It was the same choice of 4 every day. #3 The hotel decor requires updating as did our room which had some very worn cheap black furniture. Also, the room and corridor colour schemes are very garish and not very relaxing to look at! Please update with neutral restful colours! #4 The indoor pool is very cold. #5 The sauna door still needs fixing. #6 A proper SPA would benefit with all the ambience and lovely scented smells like the Pestana Carlton.

吉吉客Hotel facilities and equipment, although old, but also basically meet the needs of use, breakfast is very rich, the room given by the front desk should be considered the largest of the same type, but the floor is too low, the parking lot is noisy, the fly in the ointment is less front desk staff Smile, communication is frosty, resort hotels should not be like this. There is also a small episode at check-in. The front desk must ask me to send the order to the hotel's mailbox, and she has my order number in hand. Is it ridiculous!

Only 3 mins walk to bus top where can bring you to City Center €1.95 single one way and airport. €5 single one way, €8 return. Walking to City center is about 20-30mins. Only 10mins walk to Forum Madeira shopping mall. Breakfast is good with many choices of fruit, salad, yogurt, ham, eggs, bread, cereals. Indoor, outdoor pool and gym are nice too. We stay in sea and swimming pool view studio with kitchenette. The balcony is wonderful.
Staffs are polite and patient. Only one con, no air conditioning in 31 degrees. Only have a ceiling fan.

Mmillie32Enjoyed 7 nights at the Florasol Hotel, had requested high floor we were on the top floor( 12th) and had a one bed room apar**ent which was bright and modern with sea view from balcony in both lounge & bedroom, apar**ent was spacious and comfortable with a wardrobe and storage in both rooms, had breakfast which was continental, had a good choice with some hot food beans ,sausages and an egg station for omelettes or fried & scrambled eggs, lovely freshly baked bread. Bar/ dining room has a good outside courtyard area ,there was a nice pool area. Was around 30 mins walk to Funchal or a short bus ride ,lots of nice restaurants in the area, hired a car for 2 days to see more of the Island

RReyho0nThe hotel is in a good location and the sea view room which we reserved had a nice view of ocean. But, I need to mention that this hotel is not a 4 star hotel. The whole building is old and they kept it in an old fashion way. The bath is not good, they don't offer even water in daily service and neither tea. (which is expected from a four star hotel)
The elevator is old and always full, really not suitable for an eleven floor building.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the room which was like stepping back in time by about 30 years. The beds are old and not particularly comfortable. The bedroom was air conditioned though which was quiet and effective.
