Granbell Hotel Colombo
9.0 (1,264 reviews)

Granbell Hotel Colombo ★★★★

📍 282/5 Kollupitiya Road, Marine Drive, Colombo 03, Colombo

"I've stayed here many times. It's not that the service attitude is bad, but the speed is too slow. The elevators are also slow. The buffet has been getting worse. The view is still amazing, after all, it's a popular 'influencer' hotel. However, perhaps my previous impressions were too good, and now it's actually becoming less charming."

"Nice clean and comfortable rooms, reception staff are very helpful. Great views from the bar area."

Amari Colombo Sri Lanka

Amari Colombo Sri Lanka ★★★★★

📍 No. 254 Galle Rd, Colombo 03, Colombo

"The room was spacious and clean. The service was excellent, and the breakfast offered a great variety. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay. The food at Prego on the 26th floor was also delicious."

Marino Beach Colombo
9.4 (481 reviews)

Marino Beach Colombo ★★★★★

📍 590 Marine Drive, Colombo 03, Colombo

"⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good stay, great staff — pool‑side dining rules a drawback The team at Marino Beach Hotel were absolutely amazing warm, attentive, and always ready to help, which made my stay really pleasant and comfortable. The one disappointment was the strict policy: Food are not allowed near the pool or sun‑lounge areas, only in one corner of the rooftop Level 10. This isn’t a practical choice many guests want to relax and enjoy a light meal or snack while staying by the water. Having to dry off and change fully to enter the restaurant meant it was often empty, and I think the hotel misses out on extra business this way. Otherwise, a nice, well‑kept property with lovely people just hope they review that rule soon."

Clock Inn Dehiwala

Clock Inn Dehiwala ★★

📍 40 Srimath D.B.Jayathilake Mawatha, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia

"Good for the price"

Galle Face Hotel
8.6 (125 reviews)

Galle Face Hotel ★★★★★

📍 2 Galle Rd, Colombo 03, Colombo

"The oldest Western colonial hotel in the Far East. The creaking wooden floors add to its charm. It's called Galle Face because it faces Galle, which is a rather straightforward name."

C1 Colombo Fort
8.8 (240 reviews)

C1 Colombo Fort ★★★

📍 37 Mudalige Mawatha, Colombo 01, Colombo

"Very well located. Staff are friendly and great problem solvers (kudos especially to Fares). Rooms, toilets and kitchens are clean."

Cinnamon Grand Colombo
8.9 (109 reviews)

Cinnamon Grand Colombo ★★★★★

📍 77 Galle Rd, Colombo 03, Colombo

"The ambiance is lovely. It's definitely one of the best hotels in the area, and the breakfast is fantastic."

Granbell Hotel Colombo ★★★★
"Facilities: A great hotel in Colombo. Hygiene: Clean and well-maintained with complete facilities. Environment: The breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious, and the restaurant staff were friendly and professional. However, check-in was incredibly slow. The green apple sparkling water at the lobby cafe was so good I had it every day! The bar staff were also super great and lovely."

City Beds Colombo ★★★
"Booked this place because was only staying in Colombo for 2 nights and just needed a bed. Great price, walking distance to the main places in Colombo (which is nothing), and the room was really clean and had everything I needed. Stay here for a night and leave Colombo is my advice."

Amari Colombo Sri Lanka ★★★★★
"I chose the newly opened Amari Hotel (Amari Colombo) for my first two nights in Colombo, drawn by its reputation for sea views. The sea view from the room and the rooftop infinity pool were huge plusses, and the service was good, but there were quite a few flaws. I stayed in a Deluxe Sea View King Room on the 16th floor. The room's large floor-to-ceiling windows directly faced the sea, offering a great view and easy sunset watching. Unfortunately, the popular Grabbell Hotel partially obstructed the view to the left, making the angle for admiring the sea from bed not ideal. The room itself was very new, but the design had numerous illogical aspects: ① The 'king' bed was actually two single beds pushed together, with a gap in the middle, making it very uncomfortable to sleep on. ② The bathroom wasn't a 'three-fixture separation' (toilet, shower, sink in separate areas), and opening the bathroom door completely blocked the toilet, leading to poor circulation and accessibility. ③ After the main light switch was turned off for a period, the power outlets also shut off, preventing phone charging. If the main switch wasn't turned off, some lights couldn't be switched off individually. ④ The curtains required pulling cords on both sides to operate, and there was no corresponding instruction in the room. I only discovered this after struggling to pull the curtains for a long time. I was quite surprised to find such design flaws in a hotel that had been open for two years. The hotel service attitude was generally good. Checking in at 1:30 AM, the concierge was still on duty, helping with luggage from the car and later delivering it to the room. The front desk staff were also very friendly, and I didn't experience any discrimination. The rooftop infinity pool on the 26th floor also directly faces the sea. The pool isn't large or deep, but it's sufficient for leisure. There's also a bar by the pool, offering panoramic views of most of Colombo, with particularly stunning scenery at dusk. Breakfast, located on the 5th floor, featured strong local characteristics, with an array of various curries spread across the buffet. Opinions were sharply divided; my wife loved it, while I couldn't get used to it at all. Overall, to fully enjoy this hotel, you need to book a sea-view room and comfortably watch the sunset from your room or the rooftop pool. Otherwise, it's just a slightly flawed, but generally acceptable, four-star hotel."

Galle Face Hotel ★★★★★
"Impeccable stay in a majestic, historical property. Highly recommended for the service from the incredibly kind and attentive staff, the stunning buffets, a perfectly situated sea fronted large and clean salt water pool, immaculately clean and quiet bedroom with a gorgeous rain shower and separate bath. The WiFi worked seamlessly and the coffee was perfect. Could not ask for more, it was a home from home and any trip to Columbo will begin and end here for me in future."
