The gravel trails continue until you cross the main road into Chadkirk. Although the Chapel is typically only open to the public on the last Sunday of the month, our ride coincides with the annual Dressing of the Well event. This enchanting occasion commences at noon and concludes at 5pm, with the formal well dressing ceremony occurring at 1pm. The event promises a delightful array of performances by the Stockport Silver Band, Stockport Ukulele Players, and Stockport Morris Men. Moreover, stalls will be selling a variety of locally grown plants, second-hand books, cards, paintings, crafts, Chadkirk Comfrey Oil, and Chadkirk Elderflower Cordial. Families are especially welcome to join in the festivities. The Bike Ride to Chadkirk Chapel offers an accessible route suitable for riders of all skill levels, primarily on gravel cycle paths. You’ll design and create a landscape picture using silk carrier rods, silk paints and a selection of fibres to embellish your piece, using a felting needle and simple hand sewing. This is a 2 part workshop on 27th February and 6th March and is suitable for beginners as well as those more experienced in working with silk and stitch.
