Speed Dating | Saturday Night |Ages 25-39 Washington DC | Fancy a Go? | Public Bar Live
Jun 21, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Washington D.C.
Sophisticated Simplicity
Our events offer a fresh alternative to speed dating and matchmaking. We don't find anything romantic about whistles, name-tags or over-the-top party trimmings typically found at singles events so we have done away with them. Creating an atmosphere that is at once casual and comfortable. It's what we call cheeky-chic!
Meet a partner to attend concerts, music festivals, bar crawls or fitness classes. Someone who shares your passions and interests - from sports to yoga - all in a setting just your speed.
-
Upon registration, you'll be sent an email inviting you to login to your mobile MyCheekyDate ‘Smart-Card’. As the event begins, login to your scorecard and let the flirting begin. You'll be able to choose whom you fancy meeting again, to what degree you like them and have until midnight to submit your final selections for matching. Once the clock strikes midnight - return to our platform to see your matches. It's where Cheeky meets convenience! You can also access your profile via mobile, tablet or PC. Our platform isn't an app so it requires absolutely no downloading and can be accessed directly from our website, anytime. Paper scorecards are just so 2010!
The night has arrived! Go to the venue at the published start time for the event. There is no official start time to the speed dating portion of the evening - we like to wait for all daters to arrive, to have a moment to settle in with a refreshment and mingle should they wish.
Our personable hosts will assist you with your MyCheekyDate 'Smart-Card’ Scorecard. Flirty and fun, your mobile scorecard is just the beginning. Chat up our Hosts for tips or simply to ask, which direction the bar is in! After being shown to your table, the ladies will remain seated for the duration of the event. The gents move from lovely lady to lovely lady every six to seven minutes. Your mobile scorecard gives you the ability to see all the participants attending your event, upload your picture, make your selections and be notified of your matches all from your phone.
Offering uncompromising value with unparalleled service. Lovely venues and our lovely Hosts to assist you with anything or anyone.

The Program
With its riveting score for electric violin, Ulysses Dove’s abstract
Red Angels
, created for the New York City Ballet in 1994 and making its D.C. premiere, will set your heart beating to the power and athleticism of its four dancers.
Three men and two women moving to the passionate rhythms of two iconic Argentinian composers will transport you through a whirlwind of emotion and physical intensity that marks this
world
premiere
from choreographer Jorge Amarante.
Pools of light pinpointing discrete sequences of movement on an otherwise dark stage,
Prufrock
is one of two repertoire audience favorites to be included in the program. T.S. Eliot’s poem reveals itself in new and surprising ways while read aloud, accompanied by a stretch of the music, “hauntingly spare and percussive”, hailed by the Washington Post.
In
Songs by Cole
,
a jazz trio led by celebrated D.C. vocalist Lena Seikaly reimagines the melodies of America’s celebrated songwriter. Don’t miss this stylish collaboration between dancers and a jazz ensemble, set to Cole’s mysterious and propulsive melodies–a Chamber Dance audience favorite making its much-anticipated return.
The company’s resident quartet will perform the D.C. premiere
(not sure this is true yet)
of
Testimony
by composer Charlton Singleton, which draws upon the musical traditions of the Gullah culture in the American Southeast's Lowcountry region.
Testimony
was composed for 50 For The Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire.

Forest Bathing with Certified Guide Susan West Montgomery | Tregaron Conservancy
Jun 1, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Washington D.C.
Give yourself permission to step away, for a time, from the concerns of the world. Join us for an immersive walk along the
Tregaron
footpaths in the tradition of Shinrin-yoku or forest bathing, a Japanese wellness practice that helps individuals access the healing properties of nature. Research shows that extended contemplative time in nature calms the mind, promotes well-being, and cultivates a profound sense of belonging.
The experience begins with an orientation to, and expression of gratitude for, the place where we will be spending our time. It includes warm-ups, centering, breathing exercises, a non-strenuous walk, and a brief time sitting. We conclude by reflecting on the experience and learning how the practice can be used in daily life.
Our guide is
Susan West Montgomery
, a Kripalu Certified Outdoor Mindfulness Guide. She specializes in developing customized excursions at natural, historic, and cultural sites where she can deepen the mindfulness experience by layering in the nature-culture connection.
Preparation:
We will be walking on mulched trails and stone steps with some moderate hill climbing. Bring a jacket if light rain is expected.
Weather Policy:
If we need to cancel due to heavy rain, you will be notified by
8
:00 am
on June 1
and a full refund will be issued. (Tickets will otherwise be non-refundable.)
Directions and Other Information:
We will meet at the iron gate entrance at 3031 Klingle Road, NW.
(Just below the corner of Woodley and Klingle Roads.) Tregaron is a 10-15 minute walk from the Cleveland Park or Woodley Metro stops. Two-hour street parking is available nearby. For more location details, visit
our website
.
Please note:
There are no restrooms on site. There is a Starbucks on Connecticut Avenue across from the Zoo which is a 10 minute walk from the meeting place.

Hybrid Event: Ride With Me, Simone Soltani | East City Bookshop
Jun 5, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Washington D.C.
East City Bookshop welcomes Simone Soltani to discuss her sophomore romance novel,
Ride With Me
.
Note on Format:
This hybrid event will have both an in-person component with limited seating as well as a virtual broadcast via Zoom Webinar. Both in-person and virtual attendees will be able to pose questions to the author during audience Q&A.
ABOUT RIDE WITH ME
A marriage of convenience threatens to go off track in this steamy Formula 1 romance from the
USA Today
bestselling author of
Cross the Line
.
Stella Baldwin thought her life couldn’t get worse. Being left at the altar was bad enough, and the drunken rant she posted to her social media followers in the aftermath was the cherry on top. But having to show up at her cousin’s bachelorette party in Las Vegas barely two weeks later feels like a cruel joke.
Thomas Maxwell-Brown is just looking for a good time. With his family’s expectations pressing down, his career as a Formula 1 driver threatened by fresh talent, and a new reputation making him the most hated man on the grid, he needs a break to clear his head. And what better way to decompress than with a stag party in Vegas?
Stella isn’t the woman Thomas expects to meet that night. And Thomas isn’t the man Stella expects to wake up next to in the morning—with a ring on her finger. Staying married might be the perfect solution to all their problems, even if it is a little wild. Sometimes, what happens in Vegas doesn’t need to stay there. . . .
Simone Soltani
is a romance author and former ghost writer for a serialized fiction platform. Born and raised in Washington, DC, she holds a BA in Geography from The George Washington University, which she likes to think comes in handy for world-building in her novels. When she’s not writing, she spends most of her time planning vacations she’ll probably never get to go on, reorganizing her many bookshelves, and watching sports while cuddling with her dogs.
Annie Crown
, author of NIGHT SHIFT, writes new adult and contemporary romance full of humor, heart, and plenty of spice. A born-and-raised California girl, she holds a bachelor’s in English from USC and enjoys iced coffee in the morning and frozen margaritas in the afternoon. When she isn’t writing, she’s probably rewatching her comfort shows, adding more romance novels to her ever-growing TBR, or daydreaming about fictional men who say things that make you melt.
