Landscape and Labor Dutch Works on Paper in Van Gogh’s Time | Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
Dec 21, 2024–Jun 22, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
Boston
Although Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) is today perhaps the most famous Dutch artist of all, in his own time he was relatively little known, especially when compared to artists of the Hague School. This group, named for the city where many of its members trained and worked, was comprised of those who had different styles but shared a devotion to the depiction of everyday life, looking to the Dutch countryside for their subjects and themes. The Hague School artists achieved international fame, and in the early 1900s US collectors and museums—including the MFA—eagerly sought their works. But over the decades the group’s fame faded.

Witnessing Humanity: The Art of John Wilson | Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
Feb 8–Jun 22, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
Boston
Born in Roxbury, Massachusetts, John Wilson (1922–2015) is one of Boston’s most esteemed artists. His work, made over the span of 60 years, continues to resonate with the persistent realities of disenfranchisement, racial prejudice, and social injustice.“Witnessing Humanity: The Art of John Wilson” is the largest-ever exhibition of Wilson’s work, co-organized by the MFA and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Featuring approximately 110 works by the artist in a wide range of media—prints, drawings, paintings, sculpture, and illustrated books—the exhibition explores the many ways Wilson called attention to racial, social, and economic injustices through his art. Challenging both biases and omissions, Wilson explored subjects that include anti-Black violence, the civil rights movement, labor, and family life—with a particular focus on fatherhood. Portraits like Julie and Becky (1956–78) and his Young Americans suite of life-size portraits (about 1972–75) celebrate the essential humanity of Wilson’s family and friends, while other works like Deliver Us from Evil (1943) and The Trial (1951) depict the heinous impacts of systemic prejudice and racism. Wilson’s work speaks to shared experiences, while also displaying his personal search for identity as an artist, Black man, parent, and American.

TFA CAMP ARCHITECTURE gives curious kids an opportunity to dive into an architectural topic of interest and test out their own creative design ideas. Each week explores a different theme through hands-on creativity, guided investigations of architectural examples, and interactive presentations and discussions led by our highly qualified Educators and special guests (professional working architects, engineers, and interior designers). AGES: For students entering grades 3-6 (ages 8-11) TIMES: Each week-long camp is Monday through Friday 9:00-4:00. CAMP ARCHITECTURE Tuition Not Yet Members: $350 Members: $262.50 (25% discount) TFA CAMP ARCHITECTURE - SPACES OF WONDER: Interior Design for Fictional Worlds June 2 - 6 This NEW TFA summer camp invites kids entering grades 3-6 to unleash their creativity by designing imaginative spaces for their favorite fictional characters! Whether it's a cozy hobbit hole, a futuristic spaceship, or a superhero lair, campers will explore the art of interior design while learning about color, layout, and storytelling through space. With hands-on activities, sketching, and model-making, kids will transform their favorite fictional worlds into interactive, personalized environments. Perfect for young designers and fans of all things creative! TFA CAMP ARCHITECTURE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Where will TFA Architecture Camp take place? TFA Architecture Camp will take place at TFA’s Center for Architecture and Design at 633 S. Boston Ave in downtown Tulsa. Because TFA is located withing a short walking distance to some of Tulsa’s most notable architecture, camp curriculum will include walking field trips to view the interiors and exteriors of notable Tulsa buildings. Campers will be accompanied by a minimum of two adults while walking downtown. What is your enrollment limit? Because we are committed to maintaining camp sizes that offer individualized instruction and allow students plenty of time to work, camps are limited to 15 enrollees per week with two adults. If your child is interested in attending architecture camp, we suggest registering sooner rather than later because we expect camps slots to fill up fast. Do you offer scholarships? We do have a limited number of need based scholarships for students who attend Tulsa Public Schools. Please email us at amber@tulsaarchitecture.com to apply. What grades do your camps serve? This year, our camps are exclusively for students entering grades 3-6. Do you offer a discount for TFA Members? Yes! TFA members receive a 25% discount on camp tuition. Do you offer before and after care? Unfortunately, TFA is not equipped to offer before and after care for Summer 2025 camps. Are lunches and snacks provided? We ask that students bring a non-perishable sack lunch each day that does not contain peanuts or peanut products. Afternoon snacks such as individually packaged goldfish crackers and veggie straws, etc. will be provided by TFA each day. *You will be able to indicate allergies and other dietary needs as part of camp enrollment paperwork. What should my child wear to camp? We recommend that campers wear cool and comfortable clothes that can get a little messy. Campers will be spending time indoors in an air-conditioned environment as well as outdoor exploring downtown Tulsa architecture. Students will also be using a variety of materials to construct their projects. We recommend that students wear sunscreen daily so they are protected when outdoors. Is there anything my child needs to bring to camp each day? We ask that your child bring a peanut free sack lunch and a refillable water bottle to camp each day. If your child does not like goldfish crackers or veggie straws, you may also pack a peanut free snack of your child’s preference. How will pick up/drop off work? Caregivers should plan to arrive 10 minutes early each day to sign campers in. All children should be walked inside the Tulsa Foundation for Architecture Center for Architecture and Design (633 S. Boston Ave) to be signed in by their caregivers. Pick up will occur each day inside the Center for Architecture and Design. Anyone picking up a child will be asked to verify their identity by showing their state-issued ID or driver’s license the first time they pick up. Can someone besides me pick my child up from camp? You may indicate who you would like to pick your child up when completing camp paperwork. Anyone picking up a child will be required to verify their identity by showing a state-issued ID or driver’s license the first time they pick up. What if my child needs to take medication during the day? Please bring your child’s medication in a plastic bag, labeled with your child’s first and last name. Medication will be stored in a locked cabinet and TFA staff will administer medication per your instructions. Please note that TFA does not have a nurse onsite to administer medication. Do you offer refunds? Refunds are only offered if TFA has to cancel camp due to unforeseen circumstances. Exchanges may be possible if there is a camp the following week with open enrollment.
