THE CHAINSMOKERS IN SINGAPORE | Singapore EXPO | Singapore EXPO

27 Jun 2025 (UTC+8)

คอนเสิร์ต
The Chainsmokers, the GRAMMY Award-winning duo are set to bring their electrifying live show back to Asia, with newly announced performances in Singapore and Macao. The Chainsmokers are set to perform in Singapore on 27 June, 2025 at Arena @ EXPO. ABOUT THE CHAINSMOKERSThe Chainsmokers, Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, have continuously pushed the boundaries of music, seamlessly blending genres like pop, indie, electronic, alternative, and rock. The duo’s groundbreaking approach has set cultural trends, yielding chart-topping hits, a historic Las Vegas residency, and packing arena tours across countless continents. Drew's dynamic vocals and instrumental skills combined with Alex's virtuosic piano playing form the backbone of their deep musical acumen–evident in their string of Diamond-certified singles and GRAMMY®-winning tracks. Since their independent breakthrough in 2013, The Chainsmokers have consistently delivered viral sensations, including #1 hits like "Closer" and "Don't Let Me Down," while their albums have dominated the Billboard charts. Eschewing guest spots, The Chainsmokers reached a new creative and critical high watermark with So Far So Good in 2022. It marked their fourth #1 debut on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart. Pitchfork applauded it as “their most enjoyable front-to-back listen,” and Billboard hailed it as “music that balances sing-along indie-pop and nuanced, often deeply textured electronic productions.” In 2024, the producer/DJ duo released their latest anthemic work, No Hard Feelings, to monumental chart success and industry acclaim. The EP’s boundary-breaking single, Addicted–with Mwaki producer Zerb and frequent Beyoncé collaborator INK–dominated global charts. The follow-up, Don’t Lie with pop star Kim Petras, was a cross-genre smash. For 2025, The Chainsmokers are celebrating their progressive house roots with a return to the acclaimed remixes they are known for–released for the fans, and only through SoundCloud. In 2020, the duo co-founded Mantis Venture Capital, an early-stage VC firm now managing nearly $250M in assets. With a deep focus on social capital and investment in innovative companies committed to a sustainable future, The Chainsmokers are consistently cited as some of the world’s top celebrity investors. Their production company, Kick The Habit, is currently working alongside Will Smith’s Westbrook on romcom Clean Air for Amazon Studios. The Chainsmokers are some of music’s top touring artists with an unparalleled international footprint alongside industry-defining Vegas residencies.

This exhibition offers a new, revealing look at the world-class Portland Collection of art. The museum will be filled to the brim with fascinating art and objects, a giant cabinet of curiosities. There will be silver and tapestry, paintings and jewels; art that has come home after a long loan to a prestigious national gallery, and stunning star items that visitors know and love – such as Michelangelo’s ‘Madonna of Silence’ or the pearl earring worn by Charles I at his execution. A highlight of the display is a Picture Gallery, stacked with Tudor and Jacobean portraits – many of which have never been seen publicly before.

Pagoda Odyssey 1915: From Shanghai to San Francisco | Singapore

2024年5月31日–2025年6月1日 (UTC+8)
Singapore
展覽
Pagoda Odyssey 1915: From Shanghai to San Francisco reunites a set of 84 hand-carved model pagodas for the first time in over a century. Originally made in Shanghai, they travelled thousands of miles away to San Francisco for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915 – a massive world’s fair that attracted over 18 million visitors during its 288-day run. Exquisitely detailed, the models are based on real structures, and embody the diversity of iconic pagodas from different regions and historical periods. For many visitors to the exposition, they offered a first, tantalising glimpse of China’s rich architectural heritage. Together with related works, they paint a vivid picture of cosmopolitan Shanghai and San Francisco at the turn of the twentieth century. Pagoda Odyssey will be complemented by Towers of Faith, a photography display of religious landmarks in Singapore, and Journey into the Pagoda, a virtual reality fantasy experience. The exhibition will also be accompanied by a series of public programmes, including weekend festivals, curator-led tours, and talks.

BETWEEN DECLARATIONS AND DREAMS: ART OF SOUTHEAST ASIA SINCE THE 19TH CENTURY | National Gallery Singapore

ENDED
Singapore
Exhibitions
Housed in the former Supreme Court building, the UOB Southeast Asia Gallery features over 300 artworks that trace shared artistic impulses across Southeast Asia. Beginning in the mid-19th century, the exhibition navigates Southeast Asia’s art history as an ongoing encounter with the new, as artists across the region negotiate the meaning of art and seek to reinvent vernacular expressions and aesthetics. Presented largely chronologically and interspersed with key turning points in artistic sensibilities, the exhibition also identifies how art is inextricably linked to the region’s turbulent social and political history. The exhibition owes its title to Chairil Anwar, one of Indonesia’s most cherished poets. In his 1948 poem Krawang-Bekasi, Chairil Anwar lamented the massacre of villagers by Dutch colonial troops in West Java, giving vent to the desire for national independence at the time. This line can also be said of the experience of many artists in the region, caught between manifesto and dream, personal and political. The curatorial narrative explores four themed locations in roughly chronological order, each of which critically examines common artistic impulses in the region during each period: Authority and Anxiety, Imagining the Nation and the Self, Performing the Nation, and Redefining Art.
