This program is for adults. The program will include either an interactive demo or a hands-on cooking/baking section, along with discussion of the featured book or theme. Come prepared to try out a dish and have a fun discussion! Welcome to the monthly adult Cooking Books club, where we’ll cook and bake up something related to the theme of the month while we indulge in discussions over what we’ve read and tried making before the club! Each month, we will be focusing on a different theme. We invite you to choose a cookbook either from the suggested list on Bibliocommons, or another one of your choosing, and whip up one of the recipes from that cookbook ahead of time. You can send us a photo of what you’ve made ( librarian.librarian@vaughan.ca , with Cooking Books in the subject heading), along with your name and one or two sentences about the dish and your experience of it, so that we can put together a slideshow of what everyone made in advance. Please only bring your photos, as we will be cooking up something together during the session! Youth aged 13-21 are invited to take part in a peaceful nature walk and BioBlitz, followed by a hands-on environmental action workshop. There will be the opportunity to support wildlife conservation through a Wildlife Adoptions fundraiser! Donations will go to the Bumblebee Project, which supports the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s work in BC’s Bunchgrass Hills Conservation Area.
